Description

As the Engineering Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving innovation, overseeing project timelines, and ensuring the successful delivery of engineering projects that shape the future of technology. You will be the point of lead for the Engineering Team and work directly with the management in bringing the product vision to reality.

 

Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Oversee the execution of technology strategy, balancing short-term and long-term objectives, and making key decisions regarding product development.
  • People Management: Mentor, provide career development advice, and conduct performance reviews for a team of talented engineers. Encourage open feedback, empower the team, and facilitate team growth.
  • Collaboration: Interface with Product Management, Design, and other key business stakeholders to align objectives, set priorities, and deliver software that realizes our business goals.
  • Project Management: Lead the delivery of large-scale projects, ensuring scope and direction are always clear.
  • Quality Assurance: Adopt robust quality assurance practices, including comprehensive test frameworks, continuous integration and deployment, and automated testing.
  • Recruiting: Play a crucial role in the hiring process to support the team's growth. This involves sourcing talent, interviewing candidates, and making hiring decisions.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or comparable experience.
  • Proven experience as an Engineering Manager, preferably within a startup environment with a team size of around 40 people, for at least 2.5 years in the area of large user-based digital products.
  • Have experience as a developer at least 5 years.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, DevOps, and software development life cycle.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of web/mobile technologies (frontend & backend) and architecture and have at least two of these skill
    • Swift, Kotlin or Flutter
    • Ruby on Rails with high load environment
    • AWS DevOps/Infrastructure knowledge
    • End to End-testing
    • Web3 Implementation, such as Smart Contract
    • Advanced Cybersecurity Knowledge
  • Growth mindset and ability to develop and nurture a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional organizational and leadership skills, with a hands-on problem-solving approach.
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines in a fast-paced and international environment.
  • Japanese Level of N2 and above will be considered extra advantages. (Nice to Have)
