Backend Engineer

What role we are hiring for

We are looking for an experienced software developer to join our investment management technology team. This team works closely with our portfolio managers and traders to develop trading, portfolio management and research applications to optimally manage client assets.

What our team does

Below are some (but not all) of the things we do:

• Design, development, and support of comprehensive investment management platform
• Development of frontend GUI using Javascript/React and backend APIs using Python
• Maintenance of cloud-based infrastructure using tools like Airflow, AWS, Jenkins, Kubernetes
• Proposal of new ways to support the investment management team in close collaboration with various teams in the company

Who we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced software developer to join our investment management technology team.

The ideal candidate:

• Has at least 2 years experience developing Python projects
• Has excellent communication and problem solving skills
• Can work independently with a "roll-up-your-sleeves" attitude to getting work done
• Is an avid learner and is comfortable working across the technology stack - anything from developing front-end GUIs to managing cloud-based infrastructure

Japanese skills and experience in finance/investment are valued but not expected
