The Opportunity

This role is ideal for an experienced consulting leader who enjoys building organizations, leading enterprise transformation programs, and developing strong client partnerships.

You will oversee the successful delivery of enterprise software implementations while leading multidisciplinary consulting teams across Japan and the broader APAC region. Working closely with executive stakeholders, you will help clients modernize their businesses through ERP, CRM, AI, and digital transformation initiatives.

You will collaborate with Sales, Product, Architecture, and Delivery leadership to ensure every engagement is delivered with excellence—from solution design through successful go-live and long-term customer success.

 

What You'll Do

 

Delivery Leadership

• Lead enterprise implementation and transformation projects from project initiation through successful go-live.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, within budget, and aligned with Appficiency's quality standards.
• Oversee project governance, delivery methodologies, risk management, and client satisfaction.
• Ensure successful transition from sales to delivery by validating Statements of Work, solution architecture, implementation approach, and project scope.
• Drive delivery excellence across ERP, CRM, AI, and enterprise technology engagements.
• Ensure implementation documentation, solution architecture, and project artifacts meet Appficiency standards.
• Build long-term client relationships that create highly referenceable customers.

 

Strategic Leadership

• Define and execute the delivery strategy for Japan while supporting Appficiency's expansion across Asia.
• Partner with Sales and Business Development to support strategic pursuits, solution positioning, and executive presentations.
• Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and generate new business opportunities.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of delivery methodologies, reusable assets, governance frameworks, and consulting best practices.
• Monitor operational KPIs, utilization, project health, financial performance, and delivery metrics.

 

People Leadership

• Build, mentor, and lead high-performing consulting and delivery teams.
• Coach consultants, solution architects, project managers, and future delivery leaders.
• Drive employee engagement, performance management, and career development.
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture aligned with Appficiency's core values.

 

Operational Excellence

• Allocate resources across multiple engagements based on business priorities.
• Improve delivery processes, operational efficiency, and consulting standards.
• Lead complex problem-solving initiatives and strategic decision-making across multiple projects.
• Ensure successful execution of organizational objectives while maintaining operational excellence.

 

What We're Looking For

• 15+ years of experience in Professional Services, Technology Consulting, or Enterprise Software Delivery.
• Professional proficiency in Japanese and English, with the ability to communicate effectively with both local and global stakeholders.
• 10+ years of consulting experience leading enterprise transformation, systems implementation, or business process improvement initiatives.
• Extensive experience delivering ERP, CRM, HCM, Supply Chain, AI, or enterprise business application projects.
• Experience with NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Salesforce, Infor, IFS, Workday, ServiceNow, or similar enterprise platforms is highly desirable.
• Proven leadership experience managing consulting organizations and cross-functional delivery teams.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing project financials, delivery metrics, and P&L performance.
• Experience managing distributed teams across multiple countries and cultures.
• Strong executive presence with excellent stakeholder management and client relationship skills.
• Demonstrated success leading complex, multi-workstream implementation programs.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution.
• Willingness to travel within Japan and internationally as business needs require (typically up to 25%).
