Since our founding in 2008, Axelspace has been driven by the vision “Space within Your Reach.” We have continuously refined our unique micro-satellite technology with the goal of democratizing space technology to a wider population across the globe.

AxelGlobe started in 2019 to provide a new Earth observation infrastructure by launching multiple micro-satellites for its higher data frequency. In addition to a satellite launched in 2019, we have successfully launched Japan’s first four mass-produced satellites in 2021. We are currently operating a constellation of five Earth observation satellites, capturing images with a 55 km swath every 2 to 3 days, and providing data and solutions.

In 2024, we launched our first demonstration satellite, “PYXIS,” bringing our total number of developed and operated satellites to 11.

Additionally, we received the highest award, the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award at the 22nd JAPAN VENTURE AWARDS in 2022, and was selected as part of “Technology Fast 50 2023 Japan” in 2023.

About the Role

As a member of the Sales and Business Development Division, the Global Remote Sensing Sales Engineer will primarily provide technical support for overseas sales activities by leveraging expertise in remote sensing. Additionally, as a candidate for unit leadership, the role involves managing the overseas technical sales team, overseeing global projects, and promoting cross-departmental technical collaboration.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Technical Support for Overseas Sales Activities:
    • Primarily for overseas projects, work closely with the sales and business development teams to provide technical support for all pre- and post-sales activities. This includes participating in proposal preparation and technical evaluations, providing expert knowledge during client meetings, and overseeing imaging operations using the company’s satellites.
  • Management of the Overseas Technical Sales Team:
    • Allocating tasks and managing the workload of local team members responsible for the overseas technical sales activities described above, as well as supporting project execution.
  • Project Management:
    • Primarily for overseas projects, managing project progress and coordinating with relevant internal and external departments.
  • Promotion of Technical Collaboration:
    • In cross-departmental projects, promoting the creation of deliverables through coordination with relevant internal and external departments, as well as collaboration with internal technical departments and development teams.
  • Other general activities utilizing expertise in remote sensing

 

Mandatory Requirements

  • Technical work experience in remote sensing or geospatial fields (5+ years)
  • Experience in technical sales, pre-sales, or technical presentations to clients (3+ years)
  • Communication skills enabling smooth collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Team management experience (1+ years)
  • Project management experience
  • Business-level English proficiency
  • Native or business-level Japanese proficiency

 

Favorable Skills / Experiences

  • Expertise or experience in fields utilizing satellite data (e.g., agriculture, forestry, fisheries, infrastructure, etc.)
  • Experience in proposing and implementing projects for overseas government agencies and companies
