Mujin is a global leader in industrial automation, redefining supply chain efficiency through MujinOS—our intelligent operating system for robotics. At our core is Machine Intelligence (MujinMI), a unique approach that leverages real-time digital twins and advanced perception, planning, and control algorithms to achieve fully autonomous operations.
Our flagship product, MujinController, empowers users with a highly configurable, no-code interface[cite: 1]. By integrating cutting-edge motion planning and computer vision, it enables seamless automation for complex applications such as palletizing, picking, and truck unloading[cite: 1].
Headquartered in Japan with a growing presence in the US, China, and Europe, we invite you to join a dynamic environment where you can shape the future of automation[cite: 1].
Team Introduction
As a Frontend Engineer on Mujin’s Warehouse Execution System (WES) & Fleet Management team, you will develop user-facing applications used daily in warehouse operations[cite: 1]. Your work will shape how operators interact with warehouse systems through browser-based interfaces and industrial Android devices[cite: 1].
You will build reliable, responsive, and intuitive interfaces for demanding production environments, where stability, performance, and usability are critical[cite: 1]. Working closely with backend engineers, product managers, designers, and operations teams, you will deliver features that support warehouse workflows and help users monitor and manage automated operations[cite: 1].
The role spans frontend architecture, reusable UI components, backend integration, and development tooling, with opportunities to contribute across the application stack[cite: 1].
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain user interfaces for WES and fleet management applications across web and industrial Android devices[cite: 1].
- Build reusable, high-performance UI components that support real-time operational data and long-running warehouse workflows[cite: 1].
- Collaborate with designers and product managers to translate operational requirements into intuitive, accessible user experiences[cite: 1].
- Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs and collaborate with backend engineers to deliver end-to-end features[cite: 1].
- Improve application stability, responsiveness, and maintainability through profiling, debugging, and refactoring[cite: 1].
- Develop and improve testing, localization, build, and release pipelines[cite: 1].
- Investigate and resolve production issues in collaboration with engineering and operations teams[cite: 1].
- Participate in code reviews and share knowledge across the team[cite: 1].
- Occasionally travel to customer sites in Japan and abroad to understand operational needs and support deployment[cite: 1].
Minimum Requirements
- 2+ years of professional software development experience[cite: 1].
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent academic or professional experience[cite: 1].
- Proficiency in Python[cite: 1].
- Product development experience using desktop, mobile, or web UI frameworks[cite: 1].
- Familiarity with Linux software development and toolchains[cite: 1].
- English communication skills sufficient for technical discussions and collaboration[cite: 1].
Preferable Requirements
- Product development experience using React, Babylon.js, or WebGL[cite: 1].
- Proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript[cite: 1].
- Knowledge of asynchronous programming and threading[cite: 1].
- Familiarity with localization and translation pipelines[cite: 1].
- Experience developing C++ and Python addons[cite: 1].
- Full-stack development experience[cite: 1].
Attractiveness
- Build software that directly supports real-world warehouse operations[cite: 1]. You will see your work used by operators and contribute to interfaces that make complex automation easier to understand and manage[cite: 1].
- Our team works collaboratively, reviews ideas openly, and encourages continuous learning[cite: 1]. You will have opportunities to take ownership from design through deployment, solve challenging technical problems, and work across frontend and backend systems alongside engineers with deep expertise in industrial automation[cite: 1].
Interview Process:
- Coding Assessment: Initial technical evaluation[cite: 1].
- HR Interview: Discussion with Human Resources[cite: 1].
- Technical Interview: One or two rounds with the frontend team's manager[cite: 1].
- Final Interview: Cultural fit interview with hiring manager[cite: 1].
