Job Description

pafin(formerly Cryptact) is a leading provider of cryptocurrency profit and loss calculation in Japan named Cryptact, and we're improving our platform on a daily basis. These days, a new financial mechanism called "DeFi" is trending which allows people to directly trade cryptocurrency-based financial instruments over blockchains, and Cryptact also adopts it for our clients to manage their portfolio.

As we grow and expand our business, we look for an engineer who can join our effort in DeFi area and work together in the following tasks:

Investigate and analyze blockchains, and integrate them into our existing platform
Investigate and analyze smartcontracts on blockchains.
Fullstack web development for our DeFi specific web systems, both for external clients and an internal management.

Qualifications

A successful candidate will have at least one of the following qualifications

Knowledge and experience in either of, or all of DeFi/Web3/Blockchain.
Knowledge and experience in Python or Go

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in full stack web development using React, Next.js and/or TypeScript.

Japanese Language Policy
Japanese isn’t required in the development team; however, because our main customer base is Japanese and we work with many Japanese partner companies, there will be a case where the Japanese capability would help.

Pafin supports visa sponsorship for candidates living outside of Japan.
Paid Leave
Days Off: Saturdays and Sundays. National holidays. Year end holidays.

Interview

Given the current public health situation, the first few interviews will be done remotely.

1 ) First interview (to check what is written on resume, basic cultural fit, online)

2) Tech assignment (if deemed necessary)

3) Second interview (tech in depth)

4) Final discussion (with directors)
Work style
- Full flex time with core time from 10:00 to 16:00 except Wednesday. You can take Wednesday offs as long as our minimum working hour requirement is met.
- Basically we work in the office, however, remote work is also available for a few days per month under a certain condition.
- The office is 3 minutes walk from Kojimachi station, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo Japan

Team Culture
- pafin (formerly Cryptact) is a group of professionals in finance and IT. Currently, they have 10 members in their development team, where they exchange opinions in a flat manner. Although the management team comes from the financial industry, the atmosphere is not strict, so newcomers are able to get used to the company quickly.
- Several of their core members have experience in hedge fund management and development of various financial systems at Goldman Sachs. By providing simple and easy-to-use tools, they will make virtual currency, blockchain, and smart contracts more accessible and able to enrich our lives.
