DevOps Engineer

We are looking for DevOps Engineers to join our Tokyo office.

Note: candidates must be in Japan or already have the right to work in Japan. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Core Responsibilities include:

• Full lifecycle management of our AWS hosted platform, ensuring availability, performance, scalability and security of our Liquid exchange.
• Own the build, release and configuration management process.
• Lead incident management response including troubleshooting and problem analysis across the platform and application domains.
• Pro-actively seek and implement improvements, both technical and process related.
• Partner and work closely with Security Operations to protect the environment.
• Produce metrics reporting to support our Technology Risk Management process.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong AWS experience specifically working with EC2, RDS, ELB, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudTrail/Watch and KMS.
• Solid experience as a DevOps Engineer on a high availability system.
• Solid understanding of Postgres.
• Ability to analyze and resolve complex infrastructure resource and application deployment issues.
• Professional commitment to high quality, and a passion for learning new skills.
• Detail-oriented individual with the ability to rapidly learn new concepts and technologies.
• Ability to work in a fast paced multicultural environment (our team is spread between Japan, Singapore and Vietnam)

Nice to have (not essential but beneficial)

• AWS Associate/Professional level certifications (relevant specialties a bonus)
• Solid understanding of application development practices.
• Database administration experience (ideally Postgres)
• Good understanding of agile development processes and supporting tools such as GitHub, CircleCI, Confluence and Jira
• Experience working with containerisation; Kubernetes & Docker

Language:

• English - business level (spoken and written) - will require cross team collaboration with staff in Singapore, Philippines and Vietnam
• Japanese - not specifically required but bonus points if you can speak, read and write Japanese
