The Senior Robotics System/Software Engineer for Safety is responsible for developing and managing system and software level requirements, developing operational system concepts, originating design concepts, developing high-level SW requirements and designing SW architecture, developing algorithms, performing system level integration and tests, assisting in SW verification and system validation processes.
Responsibilities
- Performs systems engineering functions by executing one or multitasks such as managing complex requirements, developing system designs and architecture, verifying system and software designs, and producing technical documents, etc.
- May support various special engineering tasks such as System Safety Engineering tasks, Reliability, Maintainability and Availability analysis, Hazardous Analysis, Fault Mode and Effect Analysis, Logistics Support, Training Development.
- Be able to support site operations and sustainment activities at customer locations.
- Support the certification process for Industrial Robotics systems throughout the entire lifecycle of the development program.
- Work in accordance with procedures defined in the company, guidelines, and work instructions.
- Effectively work together with other team members by providing the feedback on hardware/software domain requirements and/or development process.
- Be flexible to occasionally carry out other tasks that are not part of the usual responsibilities.
Required Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of experience in safety-critical development.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Robotics or Electronics, or Computer Science, or other related area.
- Previous experience of developing SIL2/SIL3 systems in Industrial or comparable in Automotive, Railway or Avionics.
- Experience with safety analysis and assessment at system level.
- Understanding on IEC 61058, ISO 13849, ISO 10218 (or similar standards in other areas) regulations.
- Understanding of SW development lifecycle for safety-critical applications.
- Proficient in using configuration and requirements management tools.
- Confident knowledge of embedded C, C++ is beneficial.
- Good knowledge RTOS principles.
- Familiar with embedded system HW.
- Experience with model-based development is beneficial.
