Project Manager

Description

Solafune is a technology company that leverages AI and data analysis to tackle social challenges faced by government agencies, corporations, and international organizations.

You will lead a cross-functional team of R&D and business development teams, driving projects in the research and development and business development domains.

You will oversee projects using satellite data and geospatial technology from planning to execution and delivery, primarily handling project planning, progress management, risk management, coordination with stakeholders, and documentation in Japanese.

Main Responsibilities

• Leading and managing cross-functional teams in R&D and Business Development
• Planning, executing, and managing the delivery of research and development projects related to satellite data and geospatial technology
• Creating project plans (timelines, milestones, deliverables)
• Progress management and risk management
• Collaboration, coordination, and reporting with internal and external stakeholders
• Creating and organizing project documents in Japanese

Requirements

• Native-level Japanese (including understanding of government and administrative documents)
• Business-level English (reading, writing, and communication)
• Project management lead experience (experience leading a team of 5 or more people)
• Interest in and understanding of satellite data or geospatial technology

Preferred Experiences

• Project management certifications such as PMP
• Experience with government/local government projects (grants, subsidies, NEDO, etc.)
• Master's degree or equivalent practical experience in science/engineering (information/engineering)
• Research and development experience using Python and GIS tools
• Experience submitting papers to international conferences
• Understanding of Agile/Lean methodologies, budget management and financial analysis skills
