Staff Fullstack Engineer - Realtime and Personalization

Your Role

We are looking for a Staff Fullstack Engineer to join our high-performing team in Tokyo. This is a pivotal role where you will act as a technical anchor, driving the direction of our AI-native systems at the intersection of Realtime and Personalization products.

You will be a hands-on individual contributor with the architectural vision to design and mentor across the full stack. Working in a squad-based model, you will collaborate with product managers and designers to ship features that help global customers generate tangible value from their data.

What You Will Do

• Technical Architecture: Drive end-to-end architecture, making high-stakes decisions that balance delivery speed with long-term maintainability.
• Fullstack Leadership: Ensure the squad is unblocked across both frontend (React) and backend systems, providing deep design guidance.
• Strategic Partnership: Partner with PMs and EMs to break down complex requirements into executable tasks, often serving as a Tech Lead.
• Mentorship: Elevate the engineers around you by modeling best practices in code review, design patterns, and operational excellence.
• Operational Excellence: Build for scalability and security, treating production operations and on-call rotations as first-class citizens.

About You

• Experience: 8+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of shipping complex products.
• Backend Depth: Proficient in Ruby, Go, Java, or Kotlin. Expertise in API scalability, database design, and distributed systems.
• Frontend Vision: Strong architectural knowledge of the React ecosystem, building modular and testable interfaces.
• Communication: Business-level English proficiency to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Mindset: You thrive in agile environments and act as a "driver" to identify and remove blockers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience integrating Generative AI/LLM solutions and agents into production workflows.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails is a significant plus.
• Experience working in global teams and coordinating across time zones.
