Abbeal is an international IT & engineering consulting firm (France, Japan, Canada). Through Abbeal, you join the avionics team of a passenger eVTOL (flying car) program in Aichi, Japan.

Background

The client is developing a passenger eVTOL, around 250 people, undergoing JCAB / FAA certification. You own the avionics specification and V&V of the Flight Controls, in a catastrophic-failure-level safety-critical environment. Based in Aichi (Toyota City), full on-site. Several openings. Long mission: 6 months minimum, likely extended to 12–24 months. Freelance or permanent (CDI) both possible.

Your Mission

• Hands-on flight control laws (MATLAB/Simulink models) and their V&V
• Avionics and Flight Controls specification
• V&V of Flight Controls in a safety-critical environment
• Coordinate with the systems team and the FCS supplier
• Ensure DO-178C Level A and B compliance (plus DO-254, ARP4754A / ARP4761)

What We Are Looking For

• Currently based in Japan with valid work authorization — no relocation or visa sponsorship from overseas for this role
• Senior engineer with DO-178C A/B experience in civil aviation (8+ years)
• Hands-on flight control laws / model-based design (MATLAB/Simulink) plus V&V (traceability, structural coverage, iron-bird benches / FCS rig / fixed-base simulator)
• Fluent English required
• Japanese is not required (no JLPT requirement)
• Open to European profiles willing to relocate; Abbeal's Mobbeal unit handles visa and relocation

Location and Setup

Aichi (Toyota City / Nagoya area), Japan — full on-site. Indicative range ¥8M–¥16M per year depending on seniority. Hired and supported by Abbeal (visa sponsorship + Mobbeal expat support).
