We are looking for a Security Engineer to join our Tokyo office, reporting to the Chief Information Officer. Must be in Japan, or have the right to work in Japan. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Core responsibilities:
- Maintain an understanding of the current vulnerabilities, response, and mitigation strategies used in cyber security operations.
- Monitors daily or weekly reports and security logs for unusual events.
- Define security configuration and operations standards for security systems and applications, including policy assessment and compliance tools, network security appliances, and host-based security systems.
- Develop security processes and procedures to ensure that security controls are managed and maintained.
- Develop and validate baseline security configurations for operating systems, applications, and networking and telecommunications equipment.
- Deploy, tune and run vulnerability-scanning and penetration-testing tools.
- Help to establish Infosec training programs.
- Assists security administrators and IT staff in the resolution of reported security incidents.
- Supports e-discovery processes to include identification, collection, preservation and processing of relevant data.
- Participates in security investigations and compliance reviews, as requested by internal or external auditors.
- Aggressively investigate cyber activity targeting Quoine information and its information infrastructure.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Technical skills:

Prior experience working in one of the following domains is highly desired
- A Security Operations Center (SOC)
- A Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT/CIRT).
- As a Security Engineer (focus on Application Security and/or DevSecOps) .
- Hands-on experience working with a SIEM in the detection, response, mitigation, and/or reporting of cyber threats affecting networks.
- Knowledge and understanding of Cloud security architectures (both of the Cloud, and applications within the Cloud; our preferred flavor being AWS).
- Experience in computer intrusion analysis and incident response.
- Experience with current cyber threats and the associated tactics, techniques, and procedures used to infiltrate computer networks.
- Experience in developing, documenting and maintaining security policies, processes, procedures and standards.
- Preferred certification(s) in one or more of the following: GSEC, SSCP, Security+, CEH, GCIH, GCIA, GCED, GSE, or CISSP.
