Engineering & Research Division / PLM Specialist
About Engineering & Research Division
The Engineering & Research Division is responsible for the end-to-end development of PowerX’s hardware and software systems for energy storage and power transfer solutions.
The division consists of approximately 50 specialists and is organized mainly into the following teams:
- Series Development: Responsible for prototyping, testing, validation, requirements engineering, product handover, product support, and commissioning.
- Advanced Engineering: Responsible for research and development of emerging technologies, including embedded systems, PCB design, model-based development, battery management, power conversion, digital twins, edge computing, cloud solutions, and AI/ML-based optimization.
- Product Lifecycle Management: Responsible for managing product and project lifecycles across quality gates, sourcing, value engineering, manufacturing, and after-sales activities.
You will work in a diverse engineering environment with members from various technical and cultural backgrounds. The team values autonomy, ownership, and hands-on problem solving, and engineers are encouraged to take initiative in shaping technical decisions.
Description
About the role
As PowerX expands its product portfolio and increases the number of international development and manufacturing-related projects, we are strengthening our project execution and product lifecycle management capabilities. In particular, projects involving overseas sites and external partners, including Europe, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan, are becoming more complex.
To ensure that these projects move forward smoothly, we are looking for a PLM Specialist who can coordinate engineering progress, organize cross-functional issues, manage quality gate processes, and prepare reliable information for management decision-making. This role is not limited to managing documents or operating PLM tools. We are looking for someone who can connect engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement, suppliers, and business stakeholders, and help drive projects from development through production readiness.
Job Scope
- Gatekeeping and Governance: Redesign and manage the quality gate operating model to ensure projects meet all requirements before proceeding through critical development phases.
- Global Project Coordination: Manage engineering progress and communication across international sites and external partners, including those in Austria, China, and Taiwan.
- Cross-Functional Triage: Lead coordination between mechanical, electrical, software, and other engineering teams to perform root cause analysis and triage engineering failures without disrupting workflows.
- Data Integrity Oversight: Rigorously verify project artifacts and technical/business data to ensure they are accurate, consistent, and decision-ready before being presented to leadership.
- Financial and Business Case Management: Conduct benchmarking and should-cost analysis to ensure production costs align with target prices and overall business viability.
Requirements
- Experience in project management, development management, or product development within R&D, engineering, or mass production launch environments
- Experience coordinating cross-functional technical issues across multiple domains such as mechanical, electrical, software, control, quality, manufacturing, or procurement
- Understanding of product development processes, quality gates, development phase management, and design reviews
- Understanding of development-related documents such as PRD, DFMEA, BOM, design change records, validation plans, validation results, and quality documents
- Experience identifying project risks early and driving countermeasures by involving relevant stakeholders
- Ability to structure ambiguous issues, align stakeholders, and move projects forward
- Business-level English communication skills
Preferred Experiences
- PMP certification or equivalent project management knowledge
- Experience in automotive, battery, electrical equipment, industrial machinery, power electronics, or other hardware product development environments
- Experience with mass production launch, production transfer, or manufacturing readiness activities
- Experience with PLM, PDM, BOM management, engineering change management, or revision control
- Experience working with suppliers, manufacturing teams, procurement teams, or quality teams
- Experience with cost analysis, value engineering, should-cost analysis, or manufacturability review
- Experience working in a global engineering environment
