Internal communication at Reaktor Japan is in English, but since their client base is focused on the Japanese market, candidates must also be capable of business-level Japanese.

• We are only accepting applications from Japanese citizens or foreign nationals with valid working visas in Japan.

Reaktor offers weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and Japanese national holidays off, along with a New Year holiday closure from December 28 to January 3. The company also provides 20 paid vacation days per year, which can be accrued up to a maximum of 40 days, as well as up to one month of paid sick leave annually.

Reaktor's interview process for engineers consists of a combination of phone screenings and remote interviews. They'll generally focus on these areas:

Reaktor has a very shallow explicit hierarchy. There are some leadership roles that resemble the more traditional explicit hierarchy, such as the CEO, but as a whole, people don’t have bosses in the traditional sense who would tell you what to do. Instead, there’s a more fluid hierarchy that forms naturally around subject matters in the teams.
