Senior Data Scientist (Microsoft 365 / Power BI) — Tokyo

Context

You will join a global Japanese industrial automation & electronics group building its in-house DX and Data Science capability in Tokyo. Senior role owning advanced analytics on enterprise procurement and spend management, on a Microsoft 365 / Power BI stack. English-friendly, international environment; Japanese is not required (no JLPT requirement).

Your Mission

• Own advanced analytics on enterprise spend & procurement data
• Build data models and dashboards (Power BI / DAX) on a Microsoft 365 / O365 foundation
• Develop data pipelines and analysis in Python on Azure
• Model and query data at scale (SQL, data modeling)
• Partner with business stakeholders to turn data into decisions

Profile

• Currently based in Japan with valid work authorization — no relocation or visa sponsorship from overseas for this role
• 5+ years (ideally 8–12) in data science / advanced analytics
• Strong Power BI / DAX, Microsoft 365 / O365, Python, and SQL
• Azure experience and solid data modeling fundamentals
• Fluent English; Japanese not required

Location and Setup

Tokyo — hybrid. Freelance or permanent in Japan via Abbeal KK. Hired and supported by Abbeal (visa sponsorship + Mobbeal expat support). Indicative range ¥9M–¥15M/year depending on experience.
