Job Description

Technically, the focus will be on the following tasks

・Improvement of existing development infrastructure
・Creating libraries
・Creating new web content
・Creating webview games in Pokecoro
・Creating event pages for other products

Compensation	Annual: 4-7 million ※1/12 will be paid monthly. *Depending on your skills and experience.
Minimum Requirements	・Experience in creating web services and web applications using languages such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, etc. More than 3 years ・Experience in creating web services and web applications using frameworks such as Anglur, Vue, React, etc. More than 1 year ・Experience in developing contents using WebGL, canvas, CSS animation, etc. ・Experience in using task runner such as Gulp ・Experience in version control of files using SVN or Git ・Experience in team development in business more than 3 years
Preferred requirements	Welcome to the game industry Wait for server-side knowledge

想定給与	想定年俸：400～700万 ※1/12の金額が毎月の支給となります。 ※スキルやご経験能に応じて決定いたします。
必須スキル・経験	・HTML5、CSS3、JavaScriptなどの言語を用いて、WebサービスやWebアプリケーション作成業務経験 3年以上・Anglur, Vue, React などのフレームワークを用いた WebサービスやWebアプリケーションの作成業務経験 1年以上・WebGLやcanvas、CSSアニメーションなどを使ったコンテンツの開発経験・Gulpなどのタスクランナーを利用した開発経験・SVN、もしくはGitを用いたファイルのバージョン管理経験・業務における、チーム開発経験 3年以上

About Cocone

Cocone was founded in 2008 with a focus on Smartphone app development and educational services. Nowadays they focus mostly on building “avatar” mobile apps. Their most popular app (“Pokecoro”) has over 16 million downloads. In fact they just celebrated the 9-year anniversary of the app’s release.

With their mobile apps, Cocone wants to create a fun digital environment where people can interact and share experiences. They hope their apps will help their users have fun and feel even more fulfilled with their lives.

Cocone is hiring more members to work on building their in-house products, doing everything from ideation to design to engineering. They hope to further increase the speed of development and handle everything from ideation to design to marketing the products.

Japanese Language Policy
Since Cocone works in Japanese, fluent Japanese (JLPT N1) is preferred, but they’re open to hiring those with business level (JLPT N2) Japanese skills if they’re a great fit for the role otherwise.

Cocone supports candidates in getting a work visa from the start of their employment to the end (for JP office).

Engineer Interview Process
(1) Document screening

Resume (Japanese 履歴書 with photo) Curriculum vitae (Japanese 職務経歴書)

(2) First interview: Member of leadership

It is not necessary to bring paper documents (electronic is fine)

(3) Second interview: Business managers or executives

- 1. Proof of your annual income (a copy of your withholding tax or most recent monthly pay stub / data can be sent)
There’s typically around 1 week between each step, but timing of the steps and requests for submissions may vary depending on the selection process.

It normally takes 1-2 months from interview to hire.
Remote Work
Currently, Cocone allows employees to work remotely up to 8 times per month.
Work style
- Normally, Cocone uses a “flex time” system with core hours from 11:00 AM to 4:00PM. But with the COVID-19 situation they’re using a full-flex system with no core time.
- Cocone has a system that allows employees with children to spend 1 hour a day on childcare and reduce their work hours to 7 per day instead of 8. There’s no decrease in compensation for anyone utilizing this system.
Diversity
Cocone has a diverse group of employees, so it’s a relatively easy environment to get used to even for non-Japanese new members. They provide Japanese classes as well as regular events to help members interact with their co-workers and build relationships.
Parents and Family
Many of Cocone’s members have children, so they’ve introduced a childcare free time system. They’re also understanding of the need to take time off to handle issues related to childcare (sudden sickness etc).
