You will be involved in the client-side development of the application.

- iOS application development using Objective-C/Swift
- Android application development using Java/Kotlin
- Game application development using C/C++ + cocos2d-x
- Application development with members using Git
- Service development using LEAN UX
- Collaboration with PM/Designer/Planning backend development
- Maintenance and improvement of existing services
- Development of new services

Compensation	Annual salary: 4 million to 8 million * Will be determined according to skills and experience. ※1/12 will be paid every month. Includes housing allowance for full-time employees
Minimum Requirements	- 2+ years of development experience (including school) - Knowledge of application development languages such as Objective-C/Swift/Java/C++ - Business level Japanese conversation skills - Ability to understand and implement the open source and SDK required for development in documentation - Ability to communicate well with non-developers
Preferred requirements	- Experience developing game apps and abata apps in Cocos2d-x - Experience developing 3D apps using Unity - 4+ years of development experience in the industry - Graduates of computer science related universities - Experience developing cloud servers such as AWS/GCP - Experience developing on container services such as Docker/Kubernetes - Experience leading development teams - Development automation using scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, node, etc.) - Experience with apps on networks such as HTTP/WebScoket/TCP

ココネ株式会社は2008年に設立された企業で、スマートフォンアプリの運営開発事業・教育事業を行っています。主にアバターアプリの開発運営を行っており、代表アプリである『ポケコロ』は1600万ダウンロードを突破し、リリースから9年目を迎える今もなお、たくさんのお客様に楽しんで頂いています。デジタル空間での自己表現や繋がりを通して癒しや喜びを感じてもらい、お客様の日常を豊かに、彩りのあるものにすることを目指しています。

Cocone’s revenue has continued to grow despite COVID-19. In fact they’re working on several new projects at the moment, so they plan to continue to actively hire engineers and other positions. They’ve also introduced the ability to work remotely during COVID-19, allowing 8 remote days per month (at the time of writing).

Japanese Language Policy
Since Cocone works in Japanese, fluent Japanese (JLPT N1) is preferred, but they’re open to hiring those with business level (JLPT N2) Japanese skills if they’re a great fit for the role otherwise.

Engineer Interview Process
(1) Document screening

(2) First interview: Member of leadership

It is not necessary to bring paper documents (electronic is fine)

(3) Second interview: Business managers or executives

There’s typically around 1 week between each step, but timing of the steps and requests for submissions may vary depending on the selection process.

It normally takes 1-2 months from interview to hire.
Remote Work
Currently, Cocone allows employees to work remotely up to 8 times per month.
Work style
- Normally, Cocone uses a “flex time” system with core hours from 11:00 AM to 4:00PM. But with the COVID-19 situation they’re using a full-flex system with no core time.
- Cocone has a system that allows employees with children to spend 1 hour a day on childcare and reduce their work hours to 7 per day instead of 8. There’s no decrease in compensation for anyone utilizing this system.
Diversity
Cocone has a diverse group of employees, so it’s a relatively easy environment to get used to even for non-Japanese new members. They provide Japanese classes as well as regular events to help members interact with their co-workers and build relationships.
Parents and Family
Many of Cocone’s members have children, so they’ve introduced a childcare free time system. They’re also understanding of the need to take time off to handle issues related to childcare (sudden sickness etc).
