Job Summary
There are 90 million people in the world who cannot afford prosthetics and orthotics.
Our company is a startup that aims to solve this social issue by using the new technologies of 3D printing and AI to develop and manufacture "mass-customized" prosthetics and orthotics (artificial legs) with unique shapes for each individual. We've gained attention, passing the Japanese preliminary round of the global startup competition XTC in first place and being selected for both J-Startup and J-Startup Impact.
Currently, we are headquartered in Tokyo, with our main bases of operation in the Philippines and India. We are widely seeking colleagues who want to make a tangible international contribution through a socially meaningful business.
The Position We Are Seeking
Our company is developing a mass-customization business for prosthetics and orthotics using digital technology, primarily in Japan, the Philippines, and India. We are currently developing our own cloud-based 3D CAD system that can handle the entire design process for prosthetics and orthotics online.
We are looking for engineers with an interest and experience in web-based 3D technology to join us in this development project.
Experience in CAD development is not required. If you have knowledge and experience in 3D graphics or game development, we encourage you to apply!
Specific Job Responsibilities (You can start with what you can do)
- New development and feature additions for a cloud-based 3D CAD system specialized for prosthetics and orthotics.
- UI design and implementation based on React.js.
- Development of 3D modeling and rendering features using three.js.
- Collaboration with other engineers (AI team, backend team).
- Requirements definition, design reviews, and code reviews.
- In the future, it is possible to be involved in the advanced functionality and optimization of the cloud CAD engine.
Requirements
- Experience in web application development using React.js or similar (approx.1+ years of experience).
- Development experience using a WebGL-based 3D library (such as three.js). Experience in games or 3D visualization is also acceptable (2+ years).
- Basic understanding of 3D graphics (meshes, surfaces, coordinate transformations, textures, etc.).
- Experience with team-based development using Git or similar.
- Ability to read English documentation and have simple conversations via chat in English (approx. TOEIC score of around 400).
Preferred Experiences
- Experience developing any type of CAD system (web-based or desktop-based).
- Examples: OpenCascade, FreeCAD, Rhino/Grasshopper, Fusion 360 API, Siemens NX API, etc.
- Knowledge of 3D modeling operations (Boolean, sweep, loft, offset, etc.).
- Experience developing desktop 3D engines or modelers using Rust, C++, Python, or similar.
- Experience designing high-speed processing using WebAssembly (WASM).
- Experience in 3D UX/UI design with a focus on usability.
- Interest in and knowledge of the medical device and prosthetics and orthotics fields.
We are looking for
- Individuals with the aptitude to understand 3D CAD and design a modeling engine.
- Individuals who can tenaciously tackle complex 3D algorithms (such as geometry calculations).
- Individuals with a strong desire to contribute to social issues (welfare, medicine) and who can commit to the product for the long term.
