About the Team:

We’re an international team from multiple countries in Asia. Locus Blue moves quickly, rapidly prototype ideas, and gives a lot of ownership to its engineers. We also have a flat structure where anyone can suggest new ideas and comment on the direction of the company. All engineers work remotely and enjoy a flexible working environment.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) engineer to develop and execute exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality. QA engineer responsibilities include designing and implementing tests, debugging, and defining corrective actions. You will also review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics.

The QA technician role plays an important part in our company’s product development process. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting tests before pushing updates to ensure software runs smoothly and meets our users’ demand. If you hold an engineering background and enjoy providing end-to-end solutions to software quality problems, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you should monitor all stages of software development to identify and resolve system malfunctions to meet quality standards.

You will also work with developers, data scientists and scrum masters. Our team is a cross-functional, global team composed of entrepreneurs, aerospace engineers, and GIS engineers to deliver the best possible experience for our customers.

We’re looking for candidates located in Asia with the option of working full remotely and visiting to Japan when it’s necessary. It will be especially required after COVID19 becomes stable.

What you’ll be doing

  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases

  • Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities

  • Design, develop and execute automation scripts using testing frameworks

  • Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs

  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved

  • Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet users’ needs

  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers, product owners and scrum masters) to identify system requirements

  • Monitor debugging process results

  • Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions

  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts

  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies

What skills are we looking for

Must Have:

  • Familiarity with the test automation pyramid (Unit Testing, Integration Testing, End-to-End testing)

  • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g. Selenium, Cypress)

  • Experience with UI Testing and related tools (e.g. Pixel Perfect)

  • Knowledge of Chrome development and debug tools

  • Knowledge in backend testing (PHP unit testing, API testing)

  • Ability to document QAQC workflows and processes

  • Able to create and update test plans, cases, and strategies

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with Agile/scrum framework

  • Able to communicate and knowledge share with a global development team

  • Working knowledge on Python and Javascript for automation scripting

Benefits of Working at Locus Blue:

  • Multinational and multicultural members

  • Travel experience to Tokyo depending on COVID19

  • Very flexible work environment

  • Competitive compensation package

  • Comprehensive health benefits
