WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

You’ll work in Tokyo as part of our Digital team.

Our highly skilled system architects and development managers configure software packages and build custom applications, creating the foundation for rapid and cost-effective implementation of systems that maximize value from day one.   


Our development teams are small, flexible and employ agile methodologies to quickly provide our consultants with the solutions they need. We combine the latest opensource technologies together with traditional Enterprise software products.


In any given project, you will be part of a truly cross-functional team of consultants (from various industries and practice areas) and world-class in-house capabilities (from research & insight generation to visual graphics, etc.) to create holistic, impact for clients.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • You will serve large corporate clients on engagements to develop digital businesses, whether in a blueprint/design phase, build-out phase, or boosting/growth phase.

  • In this role you will be a part of a highly collaborative team who are adept at solving complex digital problems, combining unparalleled business knowledge with state-of-the-art Agile, Lean, and Design Thinking processes. 

  • Your responsibilities will range from managing and transforming agile teams, shaping strategic product designs to kickstarting Agile initiatives within established organizations - working with Fortune 500 companies to native digital start-ups.  McKinsey offers an unparalleled opportunity to materially impact the Agile and innovation capabilities of the world's most influential organizations. 

  • You will be a part of cross-functional units to design, build and deliver new and exciting capabilities for our clients with the emphasis on creating the foundation for rapid and effective implementation of structures, processes and systems that maximize value from day one. Your goal will be to disrupt the way companies and organizations work and increase organizational agility for innovation. Helping our clients scale agile in their organization is key to succeed at this. 

  • To be successful in this role you will need to have strong communication skills to coach and mentor teams and leaders on Agile values and principles. You will be comfortable structuring a large-scale Agile transformation with uncertain or changing constraints. You will also coach clients on a variety of digital topics including product management, design thinking, engineering culture, and DevOps. Furthermore, you will be an integral part of client-facing consulting teams, contributing as a "do-er" and proactively solving problems, facilitating key events, creating actionable contents, and ultimately, driving transformation as required to best serve our clients.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-6 years of experience leading Agile projects as an Agile Coach with preferred certifications e.g., Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Master (PSM I, II), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO I, II), Large Scale Scrum (LeSS), scrum@scale 

  • Native Japanese speaker with Fluent English (TOEIC score: above 850 will be recommended)

  • Experience coaching and training individuals and teams in Agile concepts and practices

  • Passionate and interested in drivers of digital disruption both from a customer and organizational perspective

  • Demonstrated experience at driving Agile transformations, from design to implementation

  • Highly proficient in Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, XP, Crystal, LeSS, scrum@scale, etc.)

  • Knowledgeable of software engineering best practices (TDD, continuous integration, DevOps, etc.), Design Thinking and Lean Startup principles

  • Active in the Agile community, such as having published papers, spoken at conferences or contributed to Agile interest groups

  • Strong collaborative problem solver, fluency in collaborative tools e.g., JIRA for project tracking and Miro for whiteboarding/collaboration is preferred 

  • GitHub experience will be welcomed
