Overview

At Money Forward, we currently provide over 50 services spanning across B2C, B2B and we continue to grow by launching new services aimed at solving financial challenges for everyone.

The ID platform is indispensable for our over ten million users to use these services safely and conveniently.

Through the development of the ID platform, our team mission is:

  • Persistently pursue technological advancement by actively exploring and integrating advanced ID technologies and standards

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead the design, development, and enhancement of our ID platform, playing a crucial role in scaling our business.
  • Improve user’s authentication experiences and elevate the security by leveraging advanced authentication and authorization technologies, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and WebAuthn/FIDO2.
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers, guiding them in the timely and quality delivery of projects.
  • Prioritize tasks and make strategic decisions based on changing business priorities, ensuring the team’s efforts align with company goals.
  • Structure and streamline the team’s workflow and development process to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and decide on the appropriate actions for our ID platform.
  • Actively explore and implement new or standard technologies in the digital identity domain to enhance our ID platform's capabilities, account security and user’s authentication experience.
  • Plan future resource needs and play an active role in the recruitment and onboarding of new team members, supporting our growth and the expansion of our technological capabilities.

 

Qualification

  • Proven leadership and management experience with teams of 5+ members.
  • Solid foundation in web application technologies, security, and digital identity principles.
  • A passionate commitment to solving authentication, authorization, and digital identity challenges.
  • A mindset that finds joy in solving complex issues and systems.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively communicate across diverse backgrounds (nations, cultures, professions).
  • Ability to make logical decisions and articulate those decisions convincingly.
  • Computer Science/Engineering Bachelor's degree or related technical field.
  • A shared belief in Money Forward's Mission/Vision/Values/Culture.

 

Nice to have

  • Specialized knowledge in the ID domain, including development and management experience.
  • Experience managing multicultural and multinational teams.
  • Familiarity with our current tech stack, particularly backend technologies (Ruby, Ruby on Rails), frontend (TypeScript, React.js), and others (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform).
  • Conversational level of Japanese.

  • Backend Languages: Ruby (Ruby on Rails)
  • Frontend Languages: HTML, CSS, JavaScript (TypeScript, React.js)
  • Infrastructure: MySQL, AWS (EKS, ElastiCache, SQS, DynamoDB, etc.)
  • Configuration management: Terraform
  • Monitoring: Datadog, Rollbar
  • CI/CD: CircleCI, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD

 

Location, Hybrid Work

  • As a standard practice, a minimum of 2 days work from office attendance is mandatory, designated as team office days. Additionally, employees are encouraged to spend 3 or more days in the office.
  • The specific "team office days" may vary depending on the assigned team.
  • This policy may be subject to change based on the company's needs and work circumstances.

  • Paid holiday: 10 days (first year) *Number of paid holidays increases (+1 day) every year up to 20 days a year.
