Background for Recruitment

As a new initiative, Money Forward has begun considering the provision of BaaS/digital banking in collaboration with Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation.

We are currently seeking an Engineering Manager.

We are looking for colleagues to join us in this challenging project at the forefront of the industry, establishing a digital bank and building the financial systems of the future together.

Main Responsibilities

Build and manage development teams across three countries: Japan, India, and Vietnam
Lead the team to develop the digital bank system from scratch
Design and develop systems with modern architecture using cloud infrastructure
Regularly communicate with development team members to resolve technical issues, manage progress, and ensure quality
Design system operations and maintenance with a view from the development stage to post-release
After release, efficiently and safely conduct additional system development, operations, and maintenance

Required Skills and Experience

Over 10 years of development experience and more than 3 years of engineering management experience
Practical experience leading a development team of 30 or more members
Experience in backend system development using Java or similar
Practical experience related to frontend technologies such as Angular or NodeJS
Experience with authentication and authorization technologies like OAuth 2.0, OIDC
Experience in system development and operation using cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
Problem-solving skills and leadership for team management

Preferred Skills and Experience

Experience in developing, operating, and maintaining mission-critical business systems in financial institutions (especially core banking systems)
Knowledge and experience in collaboration with financial institutions and regulatory compliance (experience interacting with the Financial Services Agency is a plus)
Project experience using Mambu
Experience implementing continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD)
Experience in building teams and operational flows based on DevOps culture
Experience in AI development or development using AI tools
As announced in Money Forward AI Vision 2025, Money Forward is working on business efficiency using AI and plans to introduce AI agents in all products in the future

Remote Work
Money Forward requires 1 in-office day per week (so up to 4 days per week of remote work).
Work style
In terms of work hours, Money Forward offers a full flex time schedule. There may be core time in certain circumstances (e.g., new grad positions), but for mid-level or above, there is no core time for engineering or product teams. In that case, your work hours will be completely flexible.
