The platform team is a software engineering team to develop solutions using satellite data and machine learning/image processing algorithms. We are looking for a senior SRE to design, develop and maintain infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop infrastructure for Synspective's SaaS and PaaS ensuring scalability, reliability, and security
Develop a monitoring mechanism for our solutions and ensure reliability
Optimize the performance and GCP cost
Maintain infrastructure for data processing pipeline

Job Requirements

Minimum qualifications:

3+ years of experience as an SRE/DevOps
Building customer-facing cloud-native systems on GCP or AWS using Kubernetes
Experience with Infrastructure as a code using Terraform
Strong coding skills in Python and bash
Experience in consensus SLA/SLO definition and implementation monitoring SLI
Experience in using monitoring tools like Datadog, Stackdriver, Sentry
Experience in designing and developing microservice architecture SaaS or PaaS

Preferred qualifications:

Experience as "tech lead" or "team lead"
Experience in deploying and managing deep learning/ML-based solutions
Experience in handling GIS/Map data and services
Understanding of SaaS/PaaS solutions and business
Experience in working with a cross functional team with agile methodology

Japanese Language Policy
Synspective’s Japanese requirement varies based on the position, but they only require Conversational Japanese skills for developers. Being able to speak business level Japanese will come in handy however. Official company events use English, but day-to-day communications can depend on the team.
Paid Leave
Synspective’s PTO policy consists of annual paid leave following Japanese labor law.

The first year an employee joins, they’ll receive ten PTO days, plus Saturdays and Sundays and all Japanese public holidays off.

Each year the number of PTO days they’re granted will increase by one (e.g. 11 days granted in year 2) up to a maximum pursuant with Japan’s labor laws.

Remote Work
Employees are completely free to work remotely or from the office. In fact, Synspective is planning to support full remote work even after COVID-19.

However, we ask that everyone live close enough to commute to the office if necessary.
