Senior Back End / Full Stack Engineer (Node.JS)

ZooKeep is modernizing how Asian enterprise operate their talent teams. We are building the region's first locally-grown & integrated, globally scalable platform used to build sustainably-competitive hiring and talent management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services using Node.js (Nest.js strongly preferred) that support ATS workflows, partner integrations, and customer-facing features.
• Own features end-to-end—from technical design to deployment—working closely with product, design, and QA.
• Ensure system reliability by writing and maintaining robust unit, integration, and load tests.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards while mentoring junior developers.
• Evaluate and adopt modern backend and full stack tools to improve scalability, performance, and developer productivity.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional backend experience as a Backend or Full Stack Engineer, with substantial hands-on work in Node.js.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js, with experience in Nest.js or similar structured backend frameworks (Express.js, Fastify, etc.).
• Solid understanding of relational databases, query design, API architecture, and distributed system fundamentals.
• Experience with frontend frameworks—ideally Next.js or React—is a plus, but backend depth is required.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in large or evolving codebases and to deliver improvements quickly.
• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows, cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and security best practices.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
