Why we are hiring

One UI/UX designer is currently responsible for designing both "Autify for Web" and "Autify for Mobile". We are hiring additional staff to assign design tasks for each product and build a better design process.

Product design at Autify

As of April 2022, the Product team consists of three Product Managers and one UI/UX Designer. The CEO also serves as the Head of products. We identify issues from user feedback and requests we receive from departments that interact with clients often, such as CS and Sales. We then explore the context and causes of those issues, formulate hypotheses on how we can solve them from a technical and UI design standpoint, and apply those ideas to the UI. We then validate whether our theory was correct based on the feedback and data we receive on released products and make further improvements. We primarily use Sketch as our design tool, as well as Figma, Zeplin, and Adobe.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for designing the UI/UX for Autify for Web, our test automation product for web applications, and Autify for Mobile, our test automation products for mobile applications. As a part of the Product team, you will work with the Product Manager to develop feature specifications based on client feedback. You will then design and implement the necessary UI/UX. You will also conduct user interviews and research as needed during the design process.

As a no-code test automation product, we focus on creating a UX that is easy to learn so that anyone can easily automate testing. On the other hand, a no-code platform can become too limiting if executed poorly. Simply being easy to use isn’t good enough. We would like you to join our team to create an easy-to-use UX that allows users to achieve their objectives, no matter their technical proficiency. In addition, we would also like the design to have a playful touch that makes it fun to use. We don’t want the stiff and formal impression that B2B products tend to have.

Requirements

5+ years’ experience as a designer

Experience in UI/UX design for B2B products

Ability to build products as a member of an Agile/Scrum team alongside other members (such as product managers and engineers).

Ability to drive UI/UX design that solves clients’ issues.

Ability to develop a design process to deliver many features in a highly competitive domain quickly.

Business level English

Preferred

Experience in software testing
Experience in UX research
Holds certifications such as ISTQB, JSTQB

Desired personality traits

You understand the software testing market, both domestically and internationally. You are also able to consider the challenges that clients face and empathize with them.
You have a keen interest in the latest development in SaaS design happening overseas and proactively incorporate those trends.
You look for what will achieve the best results in the shortest amount of time, and continuously make improvements based on client feedback.

Japanese Language Policy
Autify doesn’t require Japanese skills for engineers. All oral and written communications (including slack and all documentation) is in English, so there’s no need for engineers to speak Japanese.
Visa Sponsorship
Autify’s flexible when it comes to helping you get a visa. They’re willing to hire people currently living overseas and sponsor your visa (as long as you fulfill the Japanese visa eligibility requirements). Autify also allows working from abroad while waiting for your visa to be approved.

They’re even open to having people continue to work remotely from outside of Japan longer-term as long as you can be available during normal business hours in the JST time zone.

Remote Work
Autify is working 100% remotely currently, so they don’t require members to live in Tokyo, if you are able to relocate to Japan. They also have quarterly in-person meetings in Tokyo but it’s not mandatory to commute to Tokyo once every three months. You can also join remotely.

Note: We welcome remote work from other countries as long as you can work during the JST time zone. Those living outside of Japan will remotely join quarterly in-person meetings.
Work style
Work hours: Full flex time (No Core Time!)

Autify allows their members to choose their own hours as long as they average 8 hours a day each month. There may be times when you’re expected to join meetings and you may need to be online during the JST time zone, but otherwise work hours are flexible.
