The Essence of this Position

moment helps people learn to cook through an innovative personal coaching service powered by multimodal AI (text, vision, audio). Challenges at moment are not about incremental improvements. We need engineers who can identify the gap between the ideal learning experience and current AI capabilities, then narrow that gap by solving the points of greatest impact.

Role Overview

As an AI Engineer specializing in Conversational AI, you will design, implement, and optimize intelligent dialogue systems that create engaging, natural, and context-aware interactions. You will leverage cutting-edge Large Language Models (LLMs) to build robust conversation flows that enhance the user experience through natural language.

Key Responsibilities

• Conversational System Design & Development:
  • Design sophisticated dialogue systems that maintain context across multiple interactions.
  • Develop advanced prompt engineering strategies and implement systems for intent recognition and entity extraction.
  • Build personalization capabilities based on user history and develop fallback mechanisms for edge cases.
• Integration & Production Implementation:
  • Integrate conversational interfaces with backend APIs and collaborate with front-end developers.
  • Translate product requirements into technical solutions and take ownership of features from concept to deployment.
• Knowledge Sharing & Documentation:
  • Document conversation design patterns, maintain prompt libraries, and share best practices with the broader engineering team.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Professional Background: 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong production-level Python skills.
• AI Expertise: Hands-on experience building applications with modern generative AI models (LLMs).
• Dialogue Management: Expertise in prompt engineering, dialogue management systems, and multi-agent systems for complex workflows.
• RAG: Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to enhance conversational knowledge.
• Engineering Excellence: Proficiency in TDD, version control, CI/CD, and containerization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with vector embeddings and databases (e.g., Pinecone, FAISS).
• Experience with conversational frameworks like LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• Knowledge of LLMOps practices for model deployment and monitoring.
• Understanding of UX principles for conversational interfaces and cloud AI services (AWS, GCP).
