Your Role
As a Senior Database Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and maintaining the core data infrastructure that powers our digital real estate solutions. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to ensure data integrity, scalability, and performance across multiple environments. Your role will be critical in architecting robust database systems, streamlining data flows, and enabling seamless integrations between platforms to support rapid growth and analytical excellence.
How We Work
- As a Senior Database Developer, you will be part of a squad.
- Each squad consists of 4–6 members, including a Product Manager, Product Designer, and Developers.
- Squads operate autonomously, like small startups, taking full ownership of their work.
- We validate our hypotheses quickly through rapid execution, driving incremental yet impactful changes.
- Decision-making is data-driven, and we continuously measure and learn from our product performance.
Who We're Looking For
- Understands the importance of data architecture, performance, and scalability in high-traffic production systems.
- Is skilled in database schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Has experience managing data migrations, replication, backups, and recovery strategies across multiple environments.
- Has hands-on experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Aurora, Azure SQL) and infrastructure automation.
- Is comfortable working with ETL pipelines, data validation, and monitoring tools to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Has a strong understanding of SQL, version control, and security principles.
- Business-level English and Japanese (English used to communicate with the Korea team).
Tech Stack and Tools
- DB: MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL, DynamoDB, ETL/ELT pipelines, schema governance, and performance tuning
- CI/CD: GitHub Actions, AWS CodeBuild, automated schema validation and deployment workflows
- Monitoring & Observability: Amazon CloudWatch, DataDog, query profiling, and slow query analysis
- Tracking & Documentation: Jira, Confluence, data change management, and cross-team release coordination
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on PropTech, SaaS, or large-scale data platforms.
- Familiarity with schema governance, data lineage, and monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, DataDog, or Metabase.
- Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Python, Bash) for data automation, ETL processes, and query optimization.
- Business-level English communication skills; Japanese or Korean proficiency is a plus.
- AWS Certified Database – Specialty or equivalent certifications are advantageous.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
