Join us for a unique four-week remote internship with HENNGE this Summer 2022, that will offer you both personal and professional development opportunities. Experience working remotely in a Japanese company that prides itself on cultivating an internationally diverse culture. You will work alongside our experienced Cloud Product Development engineers with a dedicated mentor.

In the HENNGE Remote Global Internship Program (rGIP), you will acquire practical application development skills using Python and Go. rGIP will give you hands-on experience using state-of-the-art cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform to develop applications. Japanese is not required as English is our primary language.

Internship duration

4 weeks (from 10 AM until 7 PM from Monday to Friday)

Batch 3

May 16th - June 10th, 2022

Compensation

This remote internship is an unpaid training program.

Qualifications:

Essential:

At least third-year students or fresh graduates with BS, MS or PhD in Computer Sciences or related field
Knowledge of Unix / Linux environments
Programming experience in any language
Fluency in English (Japanese not required)
Located within a 4 hour time zone difference from Tokyo

Preferred:

Interested in pursuing a career in Japan
Interested in Cloud Computing
Proficiency with Python or Go
Knowledge of distributed systems
Experience in Full-stack Web Application development

We will be accepting applications to be in the 2022 Summer batch from March 9, 00:00 (JST).

There is no time limit for the challenge and solving time will not be considered in the screening process. The application process must be completed by April 1st, 2022 | May 27th, 2022 to be considered for the 2022 Summer batch 3 and batch 4 respectively. Please note that applicants who submit their challenge after the deadline may not be eligible for the aforementioned batches.
This remote internship is only available for those who live within 4-hour time differences with JST.

Japanese Language Policy
Japanese skills are a prerequisite for positions that require communication with Japanese speaking clients or third-parties. It might not be a requirement for software engineers, but it could be in other positions.
Visa Sponsorship
Do you sponsor a work visa for foreign employees?

Yes, we do, as long as you meet the requirements of the Japanese government (but this is the case at every company). This usually means that you will need a bachelor's degree or 10 years of demonstrated work experience in your field.

Engineering Jobs

(1) Online coding test

(2) Online interview with the team for 3-4 rounds

(3) For new graduates: Participate in a mandatory internship program at our Tokyo office from 2-3 days up to 6-8 weeks (internship cost will be covered) For experienced engineers, you may be asked to participate in a 2-3 days/ 2 weeks trial period

Remote Work

Work style
- Standard working hours: 10:00-19:00
- Flex time: (Core time 11:00-16:00, 1 hour lunch break)
- Shortening of work hours is available for employees taking care of a child or children of a certain age.
Tech Stack
We use a large variety of technologies at HENNGE and always encourage the use of the right tool for the job. We strive to always use the latest and most up-to-date technologies. Our back-ends are primarily written in Python or Go while our front-ends usually use Vue or React. We heavily use CI/CD tools to streamline our workflows. We use microservice architectures utilizing both containerization and serverless design. Our systems are mainly deployed on AWS with the use of GCP as well. We use a huge range of services provided by these platforms to support our applications.

HENNGE allows shorter work hours for employees taking care of a child or children of a certain age.
