About the position
We are looking for someone with a strong background in data engineering who is passionate about accelerating data-driven decision making throughout the company.
As Senior Data Engineer, you will be working with internal teams to understand their data needs and provide the data platform that helps their day-to-day decisions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the data platform (data collection, analysis, and visualization)
- Work with the development team to improve our data collection by connecting more data sources to the data platform
- Maintain and improve data integrity
- Interact with various internal teams to understand their data needs
- Build data dashboards to support each team's decision making
- Improve data utilization by continuously monitoring data usage metrics
- Proactively conduct data analysis to provide teams with new insights to make better decisions
Requirements
- Strong engineering background
- Proficiency in a programming language used in data engineering such as Python
- Experience and interest in data collection, ETL, analysis, and visualization
- Advanced understanding of SQL
- Knowledge of data warehousing technologies and experience with platforms such as Amazon Redshift or Google BigQuery
- Ability to deeply understand teams (Business, Engineering, and Operations) objectives and translate them into effective data engineering solutions
Good to have
- Proficiency in a programming language used in data engineering such as Python
- Experience in developing and operating web services
- Experience with Looker/LookML
- Familiarity with cloud platforms AWS or GCP
- Experience with database design and performance tuning
