Overview

MODE is looking for an IoT Solutions Engineer. As an IoT Solutions Engineer, you will play a key role in driving the success of our IoT business by designing IoT solutions and collaborating with internal teams and customers. You will be responsible for understanding customers' IoT requirements, proposing cutting-edge solutions, and ensuring seamless implementation and integration of our IoT platform products or services.

Core Responsibilities

• Understand customer requirements: Work with customers to deeply understand their IoT technology needs, challenges, and goals. By analyzing and documenting IoT requirements, we have a comprehensive understanding of business processes and can help customers build their IoT systems.
• Design customized IoT solutions: Leverage our expertise in IoT technologies, protocols and platforms to design customized IoT solutions that address customer requirements. Develop IoT solution architecture, data models and technical specifications to ensure successful implementation.
• IoT Solution Presentation and Demonstration: Effectively communicate and present the proposed IoT solution to stakeholders. Conduct IoT product demonstrations, articulate the unique value proposition of our IoT solution, and address any concerns or questions raised by the client.
• Collaborate with internal teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams including project managers, solutions architects and other software engineers to ensure the integrity of the IoT solution and ensure project success. Serve as a liaison between customers and internal teams to convey customer feedback, provide technical insights and drive continuous improvement of the IoT platform offering.
• Technical Implementation and Integration Working closely with the implementation team, we manage the implementation of the IoT solution, ensuring adherence to IoT best practices and quality standards, and providing guidance and support during the adoption phase.
• Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: Serve as the technical liaison with customers to address any IoT related technical issues or concerns that may arise during or after the implementation. Work with the support team to troubleshoot and resolve IoT issues in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Stay on top of IoT trends: Continuously research and stay on top of the latest IoT technologies, standards and industry trends. Actively contribute to enhancing our IoT platform and methodologies based on customer feedback, market insights and specialized IoT expertise.

Required Skills

• Familiarity with programming languages ​​commonly used in cloud software development.
• Strong technical background in cloud software technologies, protocols and platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure).
• Experience developing in a Linux (or Linux-like) environment.
• Experience in IoT-related projects and solutions.
• Experience using Git and GitHub for version control and collaboration.
• Business communication skills to effectively communicate and present complex IoT concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams and build customer relationships.
• Willingness to travel to client sites for meetings and project-related activities.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Business-level Japanese language ability.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Specialized knowledge and technical background in IoT technologies such as MQTT, edge technologies (e.g. embedded Linux, Bluetooth, USB).
• Candidates must have experience as a solutions engineer, sales engineer, or similar role in the IT/IoT field and have a customer-centric mindset.
• Experience with development using the Go language.
• Knowledge of Gateway (Edge) Computing in an IoT context.
• A problem-solving mindset that can analyze complex IoT requirements and propose innovative solutions.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced business environment, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
