Overview
Our company offers a range of services used by many users, including the automatic household accounting and asset management service "Money Forward ME" and the business-oriented cloud service "Money Forward Cloud." We also implement technologies such as "account aggregation" and "Money Forward ID," a single sign-on system, which support these services. Most of these services and features are developed in-house, not only in Japan but also at our overseas locations, Money Forward Vietnam and Money Forward India.
The mission of the Platform and Reliability Engineering Division (hereafter referred to as the PRE Division) is to stabilize the services provided by Money Forward and maximize productivity in development through the platforms and technical support for the services developed by Money Forward.
Main Job Responsibilities
Overview
As a Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for building and operating the common infrastructure (EKS platform) used by various applications of Money Forward.
- Development, operation, and maintenance related to the EKS environment
- Development, operation, and maintenance of tools related to the above
Specific Tasks within the Team
The following are some of the tasks. We will discuss them during the interview process.
- Upgrading EKS and related add-ons
- Development and maintenance of OSS and tools used in the EKS environment (such as Karpenter and Vault)
- Monitoring, alert setting, and incident response using Datadog
- Designing, building, and operating platforms (CI/CD, development environment, test environment, etc.) to maximize the productivity of the development team
- Performance optimization and creating mechanisms for it
- Other infrastructure environment settings (such as TrangitGateway)
- Cost optimization
Job Responsibilities for the Position
As a technical driving force in this team, you are expected to perform the following tasks:
- Design and operation policy formulation of medium- to long-term architecture as a common platform
- Architecture design of long-term EKS platform and related tools, and formulation and implementation of operation policies and guidelines in anticipation of business expansion and changes
- Improvement of reliability across services and implementation of common functions
- Promotion of service reliability improvement through SLO design as infrastructure and design and development of common platform functions such as monitoring, log collection, and authentication
- Promotion of standardization and automation of the platform
- Automation and standardization of infrastructure construction and deployment using Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD, etc., and promotion of measures to reduce cognitive load on developers
- Technical leadership of the infrastructure team
- Improvement of the team's technical capabilities and productivity through leading technology selection/design, code review, and troubleshooting
Experience Gained

This platform is used company-wide and supports many users. You can gain experience in building and operating a platform that supports the core of the company.
- Modern technology stack:
You can practice modern and challenging technologies such as Karpenter and multi-cluster configurations in an environment where reliability is required as a company-wide platform.
- Work with global members:
The team is global, consisting of members from Japan, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Poland. Work is primarily conducted in English, providing you with global work experience.
Required Skills and Experience
- Practical experience in design and operation in the fields of SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure (5+ years)
- Practical experience in development and operation of production systems using cloud environments (especially AWS)
- Experience using container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes or ECS
- Experience in building and utilizing monitoring environments using monitoring and observability tools
- Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (tools such as Terraform are not specified)
- Development experience through mutual review using Pull Requests with Git
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Development and operation experience with AKS on Azure
- Experience in reducing the burden on development teams and enhancing business value through Platform Engineering
- Experience in designing and operating SLI/SLO
- Experience in AI development and/or experience in using AI tools to improve development processes.
