The Team

Join the Moneytree Personal team and be a part of a dynamic and innovative group that is dedicated to creating exceptional consumer experiences for Moneytree's flagship iOS and Android applications. As part of the Data Research Group, this team is guided by three pillars: Data Governance, Democratisation, and Monetisation. You will have the opportunity to work independently and use your design skills to find the perfect balance between data access and privacy while leveraging mobile technologies to discover new product opportunities. The team is responsible for the full product lifecycle, from research and design to delivery and iteration. About You

You are a designer with a strong background in user interface design for native mobile platforms and have a keen interest in user research. As an active member of both a product team and Moneytree’s design team, you are comfortable being in a position that is multi-disciplinary and multi-lingual.
 
As part of a design team, you can deliver value by continually evangelizing for design-driven ways of thinking. You are confident conduct product discovery activities while using prototyping and usability testing to inform your design decisions. You enjoy crafting functional user interfaces and visual systems that help users realize their goals.
 
As part of a product team you prefer to work collaboratively with Product, Engineering and Marketing, rather than alone. Providing an informed-perspective from a user’s point of view, to help your team make high-quality decisions that allow our users' understand their financial data better.


In this role you will

    • Operate as a design generalist, owning problems, translating research insights in to new ideas, designing the user journeys and detailed interactions to bring those ideas to life.
    • Support customer interviews, workshops, and user testing sessions to solidify your team’s understanding of customer’s business problems and pain points.
    • Create low-fidelity user flows and prototypes, considering accessibility and responsiveness, through to pixel-perfect production-ready visual designs.
    • Collaborate with engineering to ensure that the finished product aligns closely with original design work and maintains a high quality standard.
    • Apply an iterative design process by collaborating with non-design stakeholders to build consensus.
    • Contribute to the maintenance and evolution of our existing design systems.
    • Take advantage of product analytics and data to form solid hypotheses around user experience problems.
    • Identify new opportunities and shift gears, when necessary, based on user needs.
    • Help drive the direction, in process and culture, of a young design team.


In the first 3 months, you will

    • Complete Moneytree’s privacy and security training.
    • Proactively set up conversations to introduce yourself to leaders within our organization.
    • Participate in your first interview with an existing Moneytree Personal user.
    • Contribute your first design change to the Moneytree Personal product for iOS or Android.


Requirements

    • 4+ years of experience working with in-house, embedded, product teams.
    • A product design-focused portfolio that displays an acute attention to detail.
    • Experience working for a SaaS company, on mobile products and with distributed (remote) teams.
    • Native Japanese (or JPLT N2 equivalent) and business-level English proficiency.
    • Basic knowledge of a mobile programming language, such as Java, Flutter, Objective-C or Swift.
    • Experience operating in a fast-paced start up environment, while wearing multiple hats.
    • A willingness to continually learn, embrace the unknown and receive feedback.
