Department Overview

Rakuten’s technology organization has more than 1,000 employees across Product Management, Research, Analytics, Product Development, and Operations. Rakuten’s technical organization is responsible for building products that enable various businesses of Rakuten globally.

With over a billion Rakuten users interacting with Rakuten's interfaces, the growing number of user interface (UI) elements (search results, recommendations, advertisements, etc.) is commanded by computer control systems that continuously optimize UI response to better serve both users and shareholders

We are looking for a highly motivated development engineer with strong test automation experience, committed to customer satisfaction, and a strong desire to create the highest-quality Search platform for Rakuten Services.

Position Details

Responsibilities (includes but are not limited to):

• Design, build, and maintain an effective scalable test automation framework.
• Automate and execute test cases using a test automation framework.
• Maintain and improve test execution environment for daily runs.
• Effectively report defects for test failures and assist team peers and developers in triaging the test automation failure.
• Collaborating with development teams and your team peers to identify and prioritize opportunities for automation.
• Maintain the high-quality bar by constantly improving existing QA practices.

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years experience in Software Test Automation
• Knowledge and experience with Java

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience in test automation frameworks like JUnit, TestNG, REST Assured, Selenium, Cypress, and tools like JMeter, Gatling, Zephyr TCM
• Proficient with Git, Unix/Linux commands, Jenkins
• Familiarity with distributed systems: Solr, Kubernetes, Cassandra, Hadoop, Kafka, Spark
