We're building Scene Workspace, a suite of browser-based applications that improves quality, reduces cost, and shortens new product development time for physical products. Our tools enhance collaboration and management of product and technical information across multiple teams while increasing productivity through AI-based automation.

Our applications include:

  • 3D Docs — Easily create assembly instructions and maintenance manuals from 3D CAD.
  • Issues — Issue tracking to streamline design reviews.
  • Threads — Collaborate and manage product and technical information across multiple teams.

We count leading manufacturing firms such as Denso, Seiko Epson, and Kawasaki Heavy Industries among our customers.

About the Role

At Scene, we care deeply about design. Our products help users solve complex technical problems and collaborate across multiple teams. We work hard to ensure our software is simple and intuitive, even for users who aren’t tech-savvy. We’re looking for a passionate Product Designer who can own the design process end to end, from discovery to execution. If you find this challenge exciting, welcome to Scene.

You will

  • Identify product needs and opportunities through dogfooding, experimentation, and direct user conversations.
  • Design new features, improvements, and UX/UI patterns to solve customer problems.
  • Create and iterate on user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to ship high-quality experiences.

What we are looking for

  • 3+ years of relevant product design experience at a technology or product-based company.
  • Strong curiosity and obsession with understanding users, their goals, constraints, and pain points.
  • Expertise in UI, UX, or visual design, with the ability to work broadly across the product design discipline.
  • High attention to detail and pride in crafting well-polished visual experiences.
  • Proficiency in English or Japanese (both preferred).

Bonus points

  • Bilingual in Japanese and English.
  • Experience designing SaaS or enterprise software.
  • Early-stage startup experience.
  • Experience designing desktop productivity or design tools.
  • Branding or communication design background.

Portfolio Requirement

  • 👉 If you apply, please include your portfolio or a sampling of your design work.
