Job Purpose

Since its official release in October 2019, Autify has been implemented by over 300 clients, and our client base is continuing to grow. While we provide all the essential functions required in a test automation platform, we continue to receive requests for new functions and improvements. Autify is working on growing the product further by adding new features. For this reason, we are expanding our site reliability engineering team to further develop and improve Autify’s highly reliable test execution mechanism.

Responsibilities

Work with other engineers, designers, and product leads to implement various features while considering performance, security, and reliability.
Proactively identify functions that can be improved from the reliability perspective.
Facilitate future development by improving the system on the existing server and infrastructure, code quality, monitoring, CI/CD pipeline, etc.
Infrastructure development using AWS, containers, Terraform, etc.
Keep our system up and running to meet our SLO
Build an E2E test automation backend using Selenium, Webdriver, etc.
Web application development using Ruby on Rails

Required Qualifications

Being able to work in Japan standard time (Working partially in JST can be discussed)
Over 3 years of experience in web development including backend and infrastructure.
Over 1 year of experience in developing backends with such as Rails, Laravel, CakePHP, Django, Flask, Spring Boot, or Node.js.
Over 1 year of experience in building infrastructure using container management services such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience in technology selection such as AWS component selection, and system architecture design
English skills (Business level or better)

Desirable Skills & Experience

Modern development experience with Agile or Scrum.
Experience in E2E test automation with Selenium and Appium
Experience in improving SLA/SLO
Experience in an on-call rotation

Japanese Language Policy
Autify doesn’t require Japanese skills for engineers. All oral and written communications (including slack and all documentation) is in English, so there’s no need for engineers to speak Japanese.
Visa Sponsorship
Autify’s flexible when it comes to helping you get a visa. They’re willing to hire people currently living overseas and sponsor your visa (as long as you fulfill the Japanese visa eligibility requirements). Autify also allows working from abroad while waiting for your visa to be approved.

They’re even open to having people continue to work remotely from outside of Japan longer-term as long as you can be available during normal business hours in the JST time zone.

Remote Work
Autify is working 100% remotely currently, so they don’t require members to live in Tokyo, if you are able to relocate to Japan. They also have quarterly in-person meetings in Tokyo but it’s not mandatory to commute to Tokyo once every three months. You can also join remotely.

Note: We welcome remote work from other countries as long as you can work during the JST time zone. Those living outside of Japan will remotely join quarterly in-person meetings.
Work style
Work hours: Full flex time (No Core Time!)

Autify allows their members to choose their own hours as long as they average 8 hours a day each month. There may be times when you’re expected to join meetings and you may need to be online during the JST time zone, but otherwise work hours are flexible.
