The team:

We are Datadog's in-house product experts. The Technical Solutions team enables Datadog's worldwide growth by educating potential clients and ensuring that existing customers are happy and successful. We share our technical and product expertise with customers through demos, presentations, technical evaluations, and ongoing support. Technical Solutions is a growing global team that collaborates constantly to share knowledge and continuously advance our technical skill set.

The opportunity:

Join a diverse team of traditional and non-traditional backgrounds, working together to solve hard problems the right way. You’ll be joining a startup where you will be challenged and get to immediately witness your contributions to Datadog.

You will:

Respond to client requests on our fast paced team while continuing to educate our clients on the use of the platform
Reproduce issues and dive into the 400+ integrations that Datadog works with
Build out documentation and knowledge based articles for a variety of technology
Drive product conversations based on needs and problems learned during client interactions

Requirements:

You’re self-motivated, detail-attentive, and wish to keep learning more
You’re a master at one thing: tell us all about it
You’re a critical thinker, who defaults to a client-gratification manner
You’re a tinkerer with some programming experience and a basic knowledge of Linux
Ability to work a rotating schedule that requires weekend availability
Speaks Japanese

Bonus points:

CS or Engineering majors
Active contribution to open-source projects (code, bug reports, etc.) and the Engineering Community (Meetups, etc.)
You want to start your own company someday

Japanese Language Policy
At Datadog, we do require a business-level English and Japanese language skill set as we are a global company, and you’ll have the opportunity to interact with colleagues all over the world, while also conducting business and demos with partners and customers across Japan.

Engineer Interview Process
1) Application Review:

Our recruiting team kicks off the process by reviewing your resume and credentials. You’ll hear from one of our recruiting team members if we think you are a good fit for the position, and we’ll set up some time to chat.

2) Interview:

Our interviews take on average, 2-4 weeks, depending on schedules. We make sure you’ll meet with potential peers, manager, and possibly an executive. While our processes may vary from role to role, you can expect a combo of 1-2 phone interviews, 1-2 on-site interviews, and something like a coding assignment or case study.

3) Selection:

We make our hiring decisions based on the best possible fit for the role. Our teams rate each candidate based on the set of criteria that we’ve designed for each role, and we review feedback from each interviewer to make a thoughtful hiring decision. The recruiting team will follow up with you on an answer after the interview.

4) Interview Survey:

We will send you a post-interview survey so that you can rate how we’re doing. Your feedback is important to us, as we’re constantly looking to improve our interview process and the candidate experience.
Remote Work
