Position Overview

Work Responsibilities

• Merlogi, Inc. is a Mercari Group company established on October 28, 2021, with the mission of “Relaying value far and wide for kinder living.” With our unique data and technology, we aim to provide logistics services kinder to all people involved and to society as a whole. We’re working to expand Mercari Posts and other Mercari touchpoints to more locations and build a package pickup distribution network, creating an even better experience for Mercari’s more than 20 million monthly users.

• The main components of the role are as follows:

  • Create and continuously improve web frontend products for business partner

  • Develop and maintain the product from inception to production

  • Build reliable and scalable web frontend software with JavaScript/TypeScript

  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Backend Engineers to develop the product

  • Work with third-party vendors to integrate new functionality

• Depending on your motivation and ability, there are opportunities to be involved in web, backend and mobile application development. In addition to your core skills.

Required Experience

• Shared understanding and belief in our company’s mission and values

• Ability to use HTML and CSS to implement solid user interfaces

• Basic knowledge of performance, accessibility, and security

• Understanding of version management and ability to participate in development via Git

• Knowledge of JavaScript and experience developing with UI libraries or frameworks such as React, Next.js, Vue.js, and Angular

• Able to understand and explain web operation principles and browsers

Preferred Experience

• Extensive knowledge of standard web technologies and specialized knowledge in some areas

• Understanding of the characteristics of different libraries/frameworks and the ability to introduce them to projects where necessary

• Ability to design architecture based on the characteristics of the app

• Ability to consistently take initiative in implementing improvements to the app

• Experienced with React, Next.js, TypeScript

• Experience working for backend and mobile applications

Working Conditions

Employment Status

Full-time

• Probationary period: First 3 months after joining the company. (During this period your contract conditions will be the same as that of a permanent employee.)

Office

Roppongi

• Smoking is prohibited within our offices

• Mercari has introduced a work style policy called “Your Choice.” Each member is free to choose whether they want to work in the office or work fully remote. ​*Exceptions made for certain kinds of work.

Work Hours

• Scheduled working hours: 10 AM – 7 PM

• Currently, due to COVID-19 pandemic, we have introduced a full-flex system without core time to increase the choice of working hours and allow for more flexible working styles. (*does not apply to all positions)

Holidays

• Two days off per week (as well as national holidays, New Year's break, etc.)

• Paid leave, congratulatory and bereavement leave, relax days, sick leave

Salary

• Annual salary paid in 12 monthly installments (including fixed overtime allowance)

• Based on skills, experience, and abilities

• Reviewed twice a year
