The Solutions Development Department at Synspective is responsible for developing models and algorithms which produce insights using multiple sources of data, including our own satellite data. To do this, we develop an analytics platform to produce geoscience insights efficiently and easily.

Responsibility:

Design and develop infrastructure for Synspective's software solutions ensuring scalability, reliability, and security
Develop and maintain a monitoring mechanism for our solutions
Optimize Cloud usage costs and alerts
Maintain infrastructure for data processing pipelines
Design and implement infrastructure for new data processing

Details of work:

Drive the architecture of the cloud infrastructure for our geoscience analytics platform with other SREs
Ensure the safety and security of our cloud infrastructure
Mentor and guide junior engineers and SREs

Learn and apply cloud infrastructure as it applies to satellite data and software.

Job requirements

Minimum qualifications:

3+ years of experience as an SRE/DevOps
Experience building customer-facing cloud-native systems on one of the major cloud providers using Kubernetes and Docker
Experience with Infrastructure as a code
Good knowledge and experience with computer networking, and SSL.
Experience in SLA/SLO definition and implementation monitoring SLI
Experience in setting up and maintaining monitoring for the company’s software
Experience in designing and developing microservices
Experience working with Linux based systems
Experience in software development for internal use (requirement gathering, designing, programming and maintenance) - preferred languages: python and golang
Experience in working in a team loosely following agile methodology
Ability to exchange requirements and align with non-SRE teams
Ability to communicate in English

Preferred qualifications:

Experience building infrastructure using Terraform
Experience with Google Cloud Platform
Experience in managing a team of SREs or Engineers
Experience in deploying and managing deep learning/ML-based solutions
Experience in handling GIS/Map data and services
Experience with python scripting and dependency management.
Ability to communicate in Japanese
Experience managing Argo workflows
