Position & Responsibilities
This position is responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing projects. This position ensures that projects are completed on time and within budget and meet the scope of project requirements and quality standards. The position facilitates clear communication with stakeholders and works to manage risk and resolve issues. This position is also expected to double as a Business Analyst and will be responsible for understanding customer and internal needs and executing system requirements recommendations and plans. This role will focus on improving business processes, optimizing requirements management, and working with technical teams to increase operational efficiency and maximize business value.
Specifically Responsible For:
1. Project Planning
- Clarify project scope, goals, and deliverables and develop a comprehensive project plan
- Recommend project timelines, budgets, and resources
2. Team Management
- Lead project teams, assign responsibilities, and monitor processes
- Ensure efficient use of resources to achieve project goals
3. Progress Monitoring and Reporting
- Regularly report project progress and status to stakeholders
- Evaluate project health using KPIs and other metrics
4.Business Analysis
- Lead meetings with internal stakeholders to analyze business needs
- Solution Proposal and Build
5. Risk Management
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend plans to mitigate project risks
- Respond promptly to risks as they arise and work toward resolution
6. Quality Management
- Develop processes and procedures to assure the quality of deliverables to the project
- Perform quality assurance activities to ensure standards are met
7. Communication Management
- Establish effective communication with stakeholders
- Share information in meetings, presentations, and reports
8. Change Management
- Evaluate change requests and analyze impact on the project
- Develop strategies to minimize negative impact on the project
9. Closing
- Review deliverables at project completion and perform appropriate handover
- Post-project review to identify areas for future improvement

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of project management experience
- Experience in engineering management
- Familiarity with cloud-based information systems
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
- Familiarity with project management tools (MS Project, JIRA, Asana)
- Knowledge of risk management, change management, and quality management
- Business level English and Japanese
*Remote work is possible, but access to Tokyo for client support is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification
- Knowledge of PMBOK is preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field
Working Conditions
Location
- Tokyo, Japan, close to metro station Otemachi with a hybrid of remote working
Working Hours
- 9:00-18:00 but can be flexible upon agreement with your manager
- Overtime: Approximately 20 hours per month (may increase during peak season)
