Position Overview
We are seeking highly experienced backend engineers who are responsible for designing and developing backend systems for our new products. We use technologies such as OAuth2/OIDC, gRPC, Kubernetes, and distributed databases to build the backend.
As a senior backend software engineer, you will analyze the business and technical requirements, design software and systems, and implement them by collaborating with others. You will be responsible for the quality and maintainability of your code, so you must be a very good document writer and set up continuous integration systems with a good set of tests. In the early stage, you will also be responsible for running the services on Google Cloud and dealing with incidents.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Analyze business and technical requirements to design our backend systems.
- Implement the designed system yourself with good documentation and tests.
- Review other backend engineers' design and code.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, product designers, and architects.
- Build CI/CD pipelines.
- Run and operate the backend services on Google Cloud.
Expected Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 5+ years of experience working in development roles in B2B software engineering.
- Hands-on experience in writing software in Go.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
- Knowledge and experience with CI/CD.
- Professional English communication skills.
Additional Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience with Google Cloud, gRPC, or Istio/Envoy.
- Knowledge of OAuth2, OIDC, SCIM, and SAML.
- Experience in building AI features/functionalities
- Experience in building and managing production services
Work Hours
- Flexible working hours
- Core collaboration time: Tue - Fri: 9am - midday (JST)
・Note: This is because some teammates are in the US, we often have morning meetings from 9am - midday - Employees may determine their own start and end times, as well as break times, between 5:00 and 22:00.
- Adjustments should be made to align with the team’s working style.
・Example working hours: 9:00–18:00 (including a 60-minute break)
Location
- Hybrid / In-Office (Tokyo)
- We have a fantastic office in Nihonbashi, Tokyo .
- In general, you can work remotely from home.
- Working from the Tokyo office may be required, such as during the first three months for onboarding.
Salary Range
- Salary Range(※1): JPY 10,000,000 – JPY 12,000,000
- Estimated annual salary: Base Salary (12 months) + Bonus (Base salary x 1 month x twice a year = 2 months)
- Monthly salary system: Base salary is determined based on your skill set, experience, and abilities, etc.
- An allowance for additional overtime(※2)is included in the base salary.
- However, work exceeding additional overtime agreed to between the employer and employee will be compensated separately.
- Base monthly salary(※1): JPY 710,000 – JPY 860,000
- The base monthly salary breakdown as follows:
・Base salary: JPY 540,950 – JPY 655,200
・Allowance for additional overtime(※2): JPY 169,050 to JPY 204,800
※Notes:
1. Depending on your skill set and experience, the amount set may be outside the above range.
2. Calculated based on 160 hours of scheduled working hours per month and 40 hours of additional overtime.
