Background
At estie, we have built one of Japan’s largest office real estate data sets and, based on this data, we develop and operate multiple products.

We are currently building an internal data management platform that enables multiple product teams to collect, process, and store data with high quality and speed, as well as ensure a secure environment for utilizing the data established by other products.

Previously, a small team managed the launch phase of our data management platform. However, as collaboration with platform users—such as for visualizing management indicators and conducting user analyses—has become more active, we now need to increase the team size. We are seeking a Data Platform Engineer to support the continuous development and operation of the data management platform, as well as the construction of dashboards and other initiatives that promote effective data utilization.

Responsibilities

  • Build and continuously improve a data management platform that:

    • Enables development teams to rapidly collect, process, and verify the quality of various real estate-related data.
    • Allows many employees to conduct analyses based on user behavior logs and internally accumulated real estate data.
    • Is envisioned around Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, and BI tools.
  • Develop mechanisms that allow employees (Customer Success, Product Managers, Software Engineers) who want to conduct analyses, as well as Software Engineers who want to build data pipelines for products, to realize their goals easily and securely.

  • Build and operate important KPI dashboards utilized company-wide.

  • Collaborate with organizations that wish to leverage data (such as Customer Success) to support their operations through data-driven insights.

Requirements
At least one of the following practical experiences:

  • Building a data management platform
  • Developing backend systems for web applications
  • Developing batch processing systems
  • Using a data management platform as a data analyst or similar user, and proposing improvements to the platform or related workflows

Additionally, you must have:

  • Practical experience manipulating data using SQL
  • Software development experience using Python or a similar language, whether professionally or personally
  • Experience collaborating with both internal and external team members to discuss and achieve project goals

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in building a data management platform
  • Knowledge of and hands-on experience with IaC tools like Terraform
  • Knowledge of and practical development experience with AWS
  • Knowledge of and practical development experience with Snowflake
  • Knowledge of RDBMS, including table design and database tuning
  • Experience using and selecting BI tools such as Tableau or Looker
  • Experience using and building with data transformation tools like dbt

Estie aims to solve the challenges of real estate transaction costs caused by data fragmentation.

Real estate transactions involve numerous companies and stakeholders; currently, each company operates its own independent database. As a result, information updates and sharing within companies are often delayed, leading to time lags and increased communication costs.

Estie’s goal is to simplify the data-sharing process by digitizing analog data and building a unified database. They can enable real-time, bidirectional information sharing, thus streamlining the flow of information.
