Since its launch in 2021, Money Forward Cloud HRS has experienced rapid user base expansion and is currently in a dynamic growth phase. Our development plan focuses on implementing advanced features, such as granular permissions management and enhanced custom items, while also improving performance and optimizing architecture for large-scale enterprises.
As the Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our expanding engineering team. You will oversee and lead the development efforts of several key products, ensuring their continued growth, innovation, and excellence. Collaborating closely with leaders and Product Managers from various development teams, you will employ strategic initiatives to address challenges and drive solutions. This role requires a decisive individual capable of envisioning and facilitating the future growth of our development organization, which is expected to expand by 35% within the year.
Responsibilities and Duties
Drawing upon your extensive experience in managing a development organization and the product development, you will assume the following roles and responsibilities within the HR engineering organization:
- Lead and Oversee Development: Guide the development of HR domain products, ensuring alignment with the product roadmap and organizational goals.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges, optimize resource allocation, and drive hiring processes.
- Strategic Growth and Productivity: Develop and implement strategies to enhance productivity and foster growth within the engineering organization, focusing on scalability for large enterprises.
- Consensus Building: Facilitate mutual understanding and consensus-building across the development organization, including non-engineering stakeholders, to ensure cohesive project execution.
- Mentorship and Development: Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth, and identifying potential leaders for future roles.
- Engineering Excellence: Ensure rigorous engineering practices and maintain high standards of execution across diverse projects, aligning with business and customer requirements.
- Supportive Team Environment: Create an environment where team members feel encouraged to share their ideas and pursue professional growth.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in leading and managing a development team of more than 10 people.
- Approximately 5+ years of experience in web service development as an engineer.
- Strong strategic planning and decision-making skills with an organizational impact.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence outcomes across multiple teams and cross-functional partners.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience managing global teams and fostering cross-cultural collaboration.
- Strong track record of managing engineering teams, including hiring, evaluation, and training, in a development organization of several dozen people.
- Proficiency in developing services using Ruby on Rails.
- Experience designing, developing, and operating cloud infrastructure, focusing on platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience in microservice design, development, and operation.
- Experience in presenting at and organizing workshops and conferences related to the field.
- Familiarity with Scrum and Agile development methodologies.
