Job Description

PayPay is looking for a Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile Engineer to build and maintain high quality and robust SDKs for development teams.

Main Responsibilities

Work closely with our App platform team to build and maintain core business logic SDKs

Support integrations with our Android and iOS feature teams

Active on improvement at platform/structure level

Define and follow coding standards, architecture principles, code reviews, build processes and testing

Promote collaboration by mentoring and sharing knowledge

Qualifications

Deep understanding of modern mobile development

Strong in Object Oriented design and Kotlin

Experience with the Android development

Strong passion for code quality and are not allergic to test cases

Familiarity with integration of Rest API

Strong sense of ownership

At least one mobile app you can show off in the interview

At least 3-5 years of professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

More interest in KMM/platform work rather than feature development

At least one year of experience in KMM

Experience with GA/CI/CD tool(e.g. Bitrise)

Ability to develop SDKs while conducting unit tests

Knowledge of performance optimization

Ability to communicate with platform members and other development team in English

Familiarity with Agile development

Experience integrating and development payment service

Japanese Language Policy
At PayPay, there is a mixture of Japanese and English spoken. Around 80% of their product team’s discussions happen in English, and they have technical interpreters and translators on staff to facilitate any translation necessary. Some members can speak both English and Japanese, but some can only speak either English or Japanese.

PayPay doesn’t have an official shared language, but in practice English tends to be the primary language used for internal communications and technical discussions like code reviews.

Instead of requiring that everyone be able to speak a specific language, PayPay expects an ability to communicate with mutual respect and a drive to ensure that you’re understood. The product team values proactive communication highly.

Work style
PayPay has introduced a highly unique “Working From Anywhere at Anytime” (WFA) HR system.

They work fully remotely, so as long as you’re in Japan you can generally live and work from wherever you want. Of course, there may be times you’re asked to come to the office for teambuilding and other activities (typically 1-2 times a month).

This system enables members to receive salary and benefits relative to a world-class city and work with world-class peers without actually having to live in a city. ※ Currently, remote work is limited to within Japan. There is no support for working from abroad at this time.

Work hours
- In principle, from 10:00am to 18:45pm (actual working hours: 7h45m＋1 hour lunch break from 12pm to 13pm in principle)
  ※ We use super flextime system which do not set core hours and also we may have overtime work based on business needs.
