We are hiring a versatile experienced AI Engineer with expertise in Natural Language Processing (NLP) for the Japanese language.
Our focus is on developing innovative products across various industries, with a current emphasis on the call centre sector.
We are looking to expand our team with an AI Engineer who can help bring new products to market.
We seek individuals who share our commitment to creating smart and well-designed applications for our clients.

What You Will Do

This is a hands-on technical role, day to day activities include:

Working closely with a knowledgeable team of consultants and IT professionals.
Selecting, tuning, and training machine learning models.
Developing software solutions that integrate machine learning models into a complete application.
Advising on technology adoption and selection as it pertains to AI solutions. It’s not a project management role, although mentoring is encouraged.
Influence and guide the direction of the AI-based solutions and ramp up the rest of the team’s AI knowledge.

What We Can Expect from You

English language proficiency.
Full professional Japanese language proficiency (for NLP with Japanese language).
Hold a degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
5+ years of recent commercial programming with a strong emphasis on delivering web solutions.
Expert understanding of a variety of AI technologies:
- Data cleaning, model exploration, and interpretation.
- NLP:
  - Sound processing (in special voice related)
  - Sound enhancement (denoising, diarization, etc)
  - Semantic analysis
  - RAG pipelines and LLM
- Working knowledge of probability theory, statistics, and data analysis.
- Experience training & deploying machine learning models in production
- Able to adapt when constrained or restricted by hardware options

Status of residence

Non-Japanese nationals living in Japan must have a working visa valid for more than six months.

Bonus Points

Experience with AWS services and MLOps in the cloud.
Experience working with paying customer requirements.
Experience working in industries dealing with data streaming, such as the call centre industry.
Experience setting up data processing and analysis pipelines.
Experience with causal inference, Bayesian modelling, or other statistical modelling techniques.
Experience in other AI domains such as computer vision.
Experience with inference optimization frameworks such as TensorRT, OpenVino or TFLite.
