Senior Back-end Engineer

What will you do?

• We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer/Architect who is eager to challenge themselves in creating overwhelming value by leveraging the power of our product in the trade industry. 
• Your responsibility will be the design and development of platforms that solve the challenges faced by customers in their trade operations and support the operational aspects of the trade industry. 
• You will collaborate with product managers and business members who are industry experts in logistics and related fields to develop the backend of the Shippio product.

• Overall architecture design and backend development of the product.
• Making decisions regarding the construction and design machine learning capabilities in the future.
• Collaborating with product managers and business members to enhance understanding of industry structures and business requirements.

• プロダクトの力で「貿易業界の負を解決する圧倒的価値創造」にチャレンジしたいシニアバックエンドエンジニア・アーキテクトの方を募集しています。
• 顧客の貿易業務の負を解決するプラットフォームと貿易業務を支えるプラットフォームの設計・開発が担当領域となります。
• プロダクトマネージャーや、サプライチェーン・物流等の業界エキスパートであるビジネスメンバーと連携しながらShippioプロダクトのバックエンドを設計・開発・運用していただきます。

• プロダクト全体のアーキテクチャ設計、及びバックエンド開発
• 将来的に機械学習機能を導入する際の構築・デザインの決定
• プロダクトマネージャー・ビジネスメンバーと連携し、業界構造・事業要件の理解を促進する

What do you need to be successful in this role?

• Extensive experience as a backend engineer
• Ability to quickly understand the essence of the industry and customers, and design the appropriate architecture
• Strong communication skills and leadership to collaborate with various team members (engineers, business members)
• Experience with Ruby on Rails
• Fluent in business-level English
• Alignment with and embodiment of our company values

What is good for you to have?

• Communication skills in Japanese are highly appreciated
• Experience in cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, etc.)
• Intellectually curious and eager to take on new challenges
• Interested in working on B2B development by leveraging your own development experience
• Experience working within a fast-paced product company
