TableCheck, Japan’s leading restaurant reservation management platform, is seeking a Developer to focus on Internal Tooling and Salesforce solutions. As a member of our Engineering team, you will design, build, and maintain systems that empower internal operations, streamline workflows, and enhance productivity across the organization. Your work will directly impact how teams collaborate, automate processes, and leverage Salesforce to drive business efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain Salesforce applications, including custom objects, workflows, Apex classes, and Lightning components.
Build and optimize Python/Ruby-based internal tools (e.g., HR systems, analytics dashboards, workflow automation) to support cross-functional teams.
Integrate Salesforce with other SaaS platforms using Python/Ruby scripts and REST/SOAP APIs.
Automate manual processes through Python/Ruby-driven CI/CD pipelines to reduce operational overhead.
Collaborate with stakeholders (Finance, HR, Operations) to gather requirements and deliver user-centric solutions.
Ensure system reliability, scalability, and security for internal tools and Salesforce configurations.

Required Skills:

3+ years of experience in Salesforce development (Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components) and administration.
Expertise in Python or Ruby for scripting, automation, and backend tool development (e.g., Django/Flask for Python, Rails for Ruby).
Hands-on experience with API development and integration using Python/Ruby libraries (e.g., Requests, Faraday).
Proficiency in CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) configured with Python/Ruby scripts.
Strong understanding of relational databases (SQL) and data migration strategies using Python/Ruby ORMs (e.g., SQLAlchemy, ActiveRecord).
Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience building internal tools with Ruby on Rails or Python-based frameworks (e.g., FastAPI).
Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible) managed through Python/Ruby automation.
Familiarity with Salesforce integration patterns using Python/Ruby middleware.
Comfort working in a small, agile team with a focus on rapid iteration and continuous improvement.

About TableCheck

TableCheck is changing the online reservation business by connecting millions of diners around the world to the restaurants they love. We help diners make restaurant reservations, and we help merchants manage table inventory, enrich dining experiences, and visualize multi-property analytics to gain insights into restaurant performance. Our goal is to both inform and delight.

We're remote-first, having an asynchronous style working, with employees spread throughout Asia and Europe working on the same team. As such, communication and documentation are in our blood. We look for and write about signals in the noise which enables us to constantly learn and adapt, and we expect members of our teams to constantly follow up with questions and updates to keep everyone in the loop.

Our engineering team communicates in English, and so we generally don't require Japanese skills. We also welcome applicants currently outside Japan. If you want to relocate here, we can sponsor your visa. We're also open to remote candidates who do not plan to relocate.

Japanese Language Policy
TableCheck's official language is English, and we generally don't require Japanese skills for IT or engineering staff. We speak English at work and have many non-Japanese developers, but most staff outside of their engineering department is Japanese, so we consider Japanese ability to be a plus.
Visa Sponsorship
TableCheck offers visa support for both new applications and renewals. Additionally, for new hires from abroad we're often open to having applicants work remotely as a consultant while the visa application is in progress.
Paid Leave
TableCheck's vacation policy is in line with Japanese standards. We assume this means 10 days of paid time off during your first year with yearly increases according to Japanese law.

Engineer Interview Process
TableCheck's engineering interview process looks something like this:
- Step 1: Resume Review by Hiring Manager

Note: We may request more interviews if interviewers are not available on the same day.
Remote Work
TableCheck has a flexible remote work policy.
We don't have any hard rules about the number of in-office vs remote days per week are allowed. Instead we assume that each employee will work with their team and manager to do what's best for both themselves and the company.

Note: We welcome remote work from other countries as long as you can work between 10:00-19:00 JST (or within a few hours of this time).

TableCheck offers flex time with core hours of 11:00am to 3:00pm Monday through Friday.
