About the role

You'll be the backbone of our office IT operations, supporting Japan and Global teams across multiple locations. You'll ensure our teams stay connected and productive while driving automation initiatives that scale with our growth. This role combines hands-on technical support with strategic process improvement, making it perfect for someone who loves solving problems and building efficient systems.

Duties & Responsibilities

Oversee day to day IT operations, help desk management, and infrastructure stability.
Manage onboarding and offboarding, access control, and asset management.
Administer enterprise systems, including Google Workspace, Slack, Microsoft 365, and internal tools.
Execute projects such as hardware refreshes, new service integrations and infrastructure improvements.
Maintain and enhance the IT documentation base.
Proactively identify and implement improvements to IT processes and services.

Qualifications

Must Have

Strong knowledge of macOS and Windows environments
Hands-on experience administering Google Workspace, Slack, Microsoft 365 or similar enterprise tools
Experience in IT troubleshooting across end-user devices and enterprise systems, including incident management, root-cause analysis, and remediation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Japanese
Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
Ability to work independently and proactively with initiative to drive improvements in a remote-first environment
Basic security and compliance awareness relevant to IT operations.
Fluent Japanese language skills, Business-level English skills required.

Preferred

Knowledge of identity management systems (Okta, OneLogin, Atlassian (Jira + Confluence etc.)
Familiarity with MDM solutions for device management
Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms
Understanding of network administration and security
Using Scripting language (Bash or PowerShell) will be a plus!

TableCheck is changing the online reservation business by connecting millions of diners around the world to the restaurants they love. We help diners make restaurant reservations, and we help merchants manage table inventory, enrich dining experiences, and visualize multi-property analytics to gain insights into restaurant performance. Our goal is to both inform and delight.

We're remote-first, having an asynchronous style working, with employees spread throughout Asia and Europe working on the same team. As such, communication and documentation are in our blood. We look for and write about signals in the noise which enables us to constantly learn and adapt, and we expect members of our teams to constantly follow up with questions and updates to keep everyone in the loop.

Our engineering team communicates in English, and so we generally don't require Japanese skills. We also welcome applicants currently outside Japan. If you want to relocate here, we can sponsor your visa. We're also open to remote candidates who do not plan to relocate.

Japanese Language Policy
TableCheck's official language is English, and we generally don't require Japanese skills for IT or engineering staff. We speak English at work and have many non-Japanese developers, but most staff outside of their engineering department is Japanese, so we consider Japanese ability to be a plus.
Visa Sponsorship
TableCheck offers visa support for both new applications and renewals. Additionally, for new hires from abroad we're often open to having applicants work remotely as a consultant while the visa application is in progress.
Paid Leave
TableCheck's vacation policy is in line with Japanese standards. We assume this means 10 days of paid time off during your first year with yearly increases according to Japanese law.

Engineer Interview Process
TableCheck's engineering interview process looks something like this:
- Step 1: Resume Review by Hiring Manager

Note: We may request more interviews if interviewers are not available on the same day.
Remote Work
TableCheck has a flexible remote work policy.
We don't have any hard rules about the number of in-office vs remote days per week are allowed. Instead we assume that each employee will work with their team and manager to do what's best for both themselves and the company.

Note: We welcome remote work from other countries as long as you can work between 10:00-19:00 JST (or within a few hours of this time).
Work style
TableCheck offers flex time with core hours of 11:00am to 3:00pm Monday through Friday.
