Why we are hiring

Since its official release in October 2019, Autify has been implemented by numerous clients, and our client base is continuing to grow. While we provide all the essential functions required in a test automation platform, we continue to receive requests for new functions and improvements. Autify is working on growing the product further by adding new features. Also, we are looking for opportunities beyond the existing Autify services. To expand our product lineup, we are looking for a senior backend engineer to join our team that works for new services. You will mainly be responsible for developing a new product utilizing machine learning techniques and generative AI from a proof of concept into a releasable product.

Responsibilities

Work with other engineers, designers, and product leads to implement various features while considering performance, security, and reliability
Investigate and solve issues that occur in specific browsers and applications
Web application development using Go and TypeScript.
Facilitate future development by continually improving the existing systems architecture, code quality, CI/CD pipeline, etc.
Work with other teams to improve our E2E test automation product built with Appium, Selenium, Webdriver, etc.
Proactively identify functions that can be improved, and suggest possible solutions in the technical aspects and product-related ideas
Participate in on-call rotations for incident & alert handling

Requirements

Being able to work in Japan standard time (Working partially in JST can be discussed)
Over five years of experience in web development specializing in backend and some experience in frontend languages/frameworks.
Experience in developing backend with Go.
Experience in infrastructure with Docker, AWS, GCP, or Microsoft Azure.
Experience in developing frontend with Typescript or Javascript
Modern development experience with Agile or Scrum.
Ability to communicate and work in English

Preferred

Experience with LLM and other machine learning technologies
Proficient in the process of analyzing, hypothesizing, and testing
Experience in E2E test automation with Selenium and Appium
Experience in developing backend with Rails or Ruby

Japanese Language Policy
Autify doesn’t require Japanese skills for engineers. All oral and written communications (including slack and all documentation) is in English, so there’s no need for engineers to speak Japanese.
Visa Sponsorship
Autify’s flexible when it comes to helping you get a visa. They’re willing to hire people currently living overseas and sponsor your visa (as long as you fulfill the Japanese visa eligibility requirements). Autify also allows working from abroad while waiting for your visa to be approved.

They’re even open to having people continue to work remotely from outside of Japan longer-term as long as you can be available during normal business hours in the JST time zone.

Remote Work
Autify is working 100% remotely currently, so they don’t require members to live in Tokyo, if you are able to relocate to Japan. They also have quarterly in-person meetings in Tokyo but it’s not mandatory to commute to Tokyo once every three months. You can also join remotely.

Note: We welcome remote work from other countries as long as you can work during the JST time zone. Those living outside of Japan will remotely join quarterly in-person meetings.
Work style
Work hours: Full flex time (No Core Time!)

Autify allows their members to choose their own hours as long as they average 8 hours a day each month. There may be times when you’re expected to join meetings and you may need to be online during the JST time zone, but otherwise work hours are flexible.
