The following list are the main tasks of this position but we don’t want you to be restricted to only these, and would like you to also contribute widely to our company to achieve our team’s goal, “To help the people in our company to work efficiently and comfortably”.

Maintaining and improving existing internal applications
Developing new internal applications or processes to improve existing procedures
Handling API integrations between systems
Occasional help desk support for devices and services maintained by the Internal IT team
Brainstorming ways to improve current processes and communicating often with members across the organization to better understand how they work

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain internal applications with a focus on efficiency and automation.
Prototype new ideas and gather feedback from colleagues
Lead your own projects and contribute to a collaborative team environment
Share your knowledge and insights with the broader organization
Maintain open communication with the product development team to exchange valuable information and seek advice

Minimum Requirements

Proficiency in Typescript
1+ year of professional experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
1+ year of professional experience with frontend frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, or Svelte)
Professional experience with unit/e2e testing frameworks (Jest, Vitest, Mocha, Cypress, or Playwright)
Experience with backend development (Serverless architecture, GraphQL, SQL/NoSQL databases)
Familiarity with GitHub or similar version control systems
English language proficiency - Fluent

Nice to have

Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Amplify)
Experience with Next.js app router (v13+)

Japanese Language Policy
Japanese skills are a prerequisite for positions that require communication with Japanese speaking clients or third-parties. It might not be a requirement for software engineers, but it could be in other positions.

(3) For new graduates: Participate in a mandatory internship program at our Tokyo office from 2-3 days up to 6-8 weeks (internship cost will be covered) For experienced engineers, you may be asked to participate in a 2-3 days/ 2 weeks trial period

Remote Work

Work style
- Standard working hours: 10:00-19:00
- Flex time: (Core time 11:00-16:00, 1 hour lunch break)

Tech Stack
We use a large variety of technologies at HENNGE and always encourage the use of the right tool for the job. We strive to always use the latest and most up-to-date technologies. Our back-ends are primarily written in Python or Go while our front-ends usually use Vue or React. We heavily use CI/CD tools to streamline our workflows. We use microservice architectures utilizing both containerization and serverless design. Our systems are mainly deployed on AWS with the use of GCP as well. We use a huge range of services provided by these platforms to support our applications.
