About the Role
We're looking for a proactive IT Specialist to join our Tokyo office in a hybrid role. You'll be the backbone of our office IT operations, supporting our global team across multiple locations. You'll ensure our teams stay connected and productive while driving automation initiatives that scale with our growth. This role combines hands-on technical support with strategic process improvement, making it perfect for someone who loves solving problems and building efficient systems.
Key Responsibilities
Day-to-Day IT Operations
- Provide technical support to our global team across multiple offices and remote locations
- Travel to and support IT infrastructure at our offices in Asia and Europe as needed
- Manage and maintain office IT infrastructure including workstations, networking equipment, and cloud services
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues with a focus on minimizing downtime
- Administer user accounts and access permissions across various platforms (Google Workspace, Slack, AWS, etc.)
- Ensure security best practices are followed across all systems and devices
Automation & Process Improvement
- Design and implement automated workflows for employee onboarding and offboarding
- Create self-service tools and documentation to reduce repetitive support requests
- Develop scripts and automation solutions to streamline IT processes
- Build and maintain IT asset management systems
- Collaborate with the SRE team to align office IT with our DevOps best practices
ERP Systems & Business Applications
- Learn and support our ERP systems to ensure smooth business operations
- Work with various departments to understand their technical needs and provide solutions
- Integrate business applications with our existing infrastructure
- Provide training and support to users on business-critical applications
Documentation & Communication
- Create and maintain comprehensive IT documentation in line with our remote-first culture
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical team members
- Participate in async communication channels and keep stakeholders informed
- Develop IT policies and procedures that support our flexible work environment
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of macOS and Windows environments
- Experience with Google Workspace administration
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment
- Willingness to travel internationally to support setup of global offices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automation tools (Zapier, Make, or similar)
- Knowledge of identity management systems (Okta, OneLogin, etc.)
- Familiarity with MDM solutions for device management
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms
- Understanding of network administration and security
- Japanese language skills (not required but helpful for communicating with local teams)
- Experience with ERP systems or willingness to learn quickly

TableCheck is changing the online reservation business by connecting millions of diners around the world to the restaurants they love. We help diners make restaurant reservations, and we help merchants manage table inventory, enrich dining experiences, and visualize multi-property analytics to gain insights into restaurant performance. Our goal is to both inform and delight.
We're remote-first, having an asynchronous style working, with employees spread throughout Asia and Europe working on the same team. As such, communication and documentation are in our blood. We look for and write about signals in the noise which enables us to constantly learn and adapt, and we expect members of our teams to constantly follow up with questions and updates to keep everyone in the loop.
Our engineering team communicates in English, and so we generally don't require Japanese skills. We also welcome applicants currently outside Japan. If you want to relocate here, we can sponsor your visa. We're also open to remote candidates who do not plan to relocate.
